Down-sized, Cut-Backs and Lay-offs!
The reason why I started my own career.
I was working in the Education Industry for 16 years as a full-time employee. I had accumulated 5 weeks of vacation and was making a decent income. One day, in March, the Superintendent of the school district came into the building and met individually with 10 people and told them that effective mid June, they were no longer full-time employees. He said they would be considered 10 month employees. I was one of those people. I went from being a full-time, twelve month employee to a part time 10 month employee within hours.
What this meant was that not only was my time cut, so was my benefits. I lost my 5 weeks of vacation; totally zapped, not paid for them at all; and I lost some of my holiday pay. At the time I was paid for all holidays. Once I was cut-back, I was only paid for certain holidays. Another thing they did that affected my income immensely, was charged me for my own health insurance. You see, for years, the district paid my entire health insurance premium. Now I didn’t complain about that, because I knew that someday, it was probable that would come to an end. The district had paid my health insurance premium for 16 years. My only share was paying a $300 per year deductible, each, for me and my daughter. So they come along, cut-back my employment hours and began to charge me for insurance at the same time and I end up losing more than $10,000 in annual salary.
My bill collectors didn’t care if my check was smaller they still expected me to pay the bills. I tried to maintain as best I could and I did manage for about 4 years until I just couldn’t do it anymore. I was forced to file bankruptcy in order to survive. My paycheck got smaller while everything else went up in cost, especially gas prices.
I loved my job. I loved everything about it. Then one day, the bottom fell out and I was forced to seek other options. At some point, I found a second job and I worked two jobs for a while. How long do you think my body could handle that?
This is when I decided that I needed to do something to secure my future. I was sent a post card by mail offering me the opportunity to look at a great opportunity. I saw the vision and I decided to research the business to see what it was all about.
Needless to say, I did start my own career and the business is prime for the current economic conditions. It has been one of the best decisions I could have made. I can choose to do whatever I want, when I want, at any time without worrying about anything. I can schedule my personal time around my business, and still enjoy as much free time as I want with my family. I now have freedom to come and go as I please.
I receive Residual Income. Residual Income is receiving pay every month, for the business I created, one time, months earlier. I could make as much money as I want to make. There is no limit on the amount of income I can make. I can go on vacation and still be paid. If I want to take a month off, I can do it and still be paid. Working for someone else gives someone else too much power over your life. They decide when and how you are paid, when you take vacation (if you get it), and how much time you get to spend with your family. I am also secure now that I have started my own career. The majority of people think that a job is stable and safe and owning a business is risky. I feel it's is the other way around. With a job, you have no control over cut-backs, lay-offs, down-sizing. Usually this is due to the financial status of the business; again, which you have no control over. You also have no control over whether the company will continue to thrive well into your retirement; or whether they can continue to pay you a pension.
With my business, I can will it and sell it down the road. This makes me feel good that I could actually will my business to my children or sell it along with the profits associated with it. With my business, I receive free healthcare benefits as well. I definitely found the right business to get involved in.
If you want to start your own career, you must be sure that it is the right niche for you. There are many things to consider when starting your own career and there are many businesses to consider offering you the ability to work from home. I enjoy running my own business so much so that I now mentor and train others how to start their own career and control their own financial future. If you are interested in finding out more about what I do and how you can duplicate it. I invite you to find out how I found my freedom when starting my career.
