Double Doors

This applies well to many situations in life.
Double doors
Block the way
Of souls that soar
They have to pay

Locked outside
Scan the plain
Land is dried
Full of pain

Withered trees
The dust blows
There's no breeze
No one knows

The people stand
Staring through
The doors at hand
There's no clue

What is there
It's mystery
Curiosity bare
Brings misery

It blocks the way
No one can pass
The break of day
A single lass

Is let inside
The people waiting
See doors slide
It is baiting

The people see
What is beyond
They believe
Something is wrong

Polluted air
Run down homes
Confused stares
Broken domes

Hands tossed up
Disbelief
Smash the cup
Where's the thief

Who stole all hope
That was awaited
Now they mope
And feel degraded

They waited for
A place far worse
Then by the shore
Where they were cursed

Wasted time
Sitting there
It's a crime
They weren't aware

All along
Where they were
Was the place
Far better
Have you ever been in a similar situation?
Yes.
No.
I've seen a similar situation, but I wasn't a part of it.
