The next morning, I woke up at about eleven o' clock. I didn't care much. I was already in trouble, so what could a little more do? I quickly got dressed and ate a small breakfast, consisting of one egg and a piece of toast.
Since I was temporary suspended from my license, my dad had to drive me to the new highway we were working at today.
Once I got there, I noticed the same three people there. I forced a smile toward the man, and I gave a fake wave to the girl. Then I saw Teasy and I gave a real smile and wave. "Hey, Teasy," I said while grabbing a garbage bag and gloves off the ground.
He smiled, "Hi, Valeri," he said, emphasizing Valeri.
"Hey, I told you, it's Val," I began picking up the garbage with a disgusted face. "I didn't call you Mark, did I?" I was joking, but serious at the same time.
"Fine, fine," he said, walking closer to me, "Val."
"Much better," I said, eyeing the guy in his forties. He looked so suspicious and evil. He was all by himself and he mumbled curses under his breath.
Teasy looked at me strangely. "What?" I asked him. "Are you gonna ask me out on our second day of knowing each other?" I said, with slight laughter.
"No," he said strictly. "I don't do that till the third day," he added jokingly.
"Oh, right, right. And then you dump me on the fifth day and go onto the next girl, who you will meet in jail. Right?" I asked with a smile that I tried to hide.
He smirked, but didn't reply. We continued to pick up the trash without talking, but we gave each other sarcastic looks and awkward smiles.
"Where do you go?" Teasy's voice startled me. It had been so silent for so long, so the sudden voice scared me.
"Excuse me?" I asked, not sure what he meant...at all.
"Like school-wise. Where do you go?" he explained.
"Oh, I go to Lincoln. It is just down the road. What about you?" I asked, though I wasn't sure if he had graduated or not.
"Really? I'm transferring there sometime this month," he said, finally giving me normal eye contact.
"Wow, coincidental, much?" I said sarcastically.
"Well if I knew you went there, I would have definitely chose a different school," he said with a grin.

That night, when we finished cleaning up, Teasy walked me home because my dad couldn't pick me up.
When we got to my house, he walked me up to the front steps. We said our goodbyes, but I could see from the corner of my eye that Teasy was grabbing the hose we keep behind our bushes.
I quickly turned around, "You wouldn't dare!"
"I think I would," he said as he turned it on. Without missing a beat, he quickly aimed the hose at me and sprayed me, using his thumb to make it go farther.
I almost screamed from the cold water. "Turn it off!" I yelled, but of course he wouldn't. "Teasy, I'm not kidding!"
Since he made it clear he wasn't going to turn it off without a fight, I decided to join in. I stomped over to him, water dripping from me and all. I fought with him to get the hose until I finally did. Now it was my turn to spray him until he screams, which was pretty fun.
Suddenly, without even having time to react, he came in closer to me and grabbed the hose from me, aiming it toward the ground. He put his hand on my back and the other near my arm. Slowly he leaned in closer to me, but just when he did, I heard a loud yell from my house. "Get in this house now, Juliet!" my father screamed.
"Juliet?" he said under his breath, but I didn't explain.
I back away from him and looked at him with disappointed eyes. "Sorry. I guess I'll see you in school soon or next weekend," I said as I shut the hose off, "whichever comes first," I added.
I walked into the house as I watched him leave. I smiled to myself and walked to my room to change and go to bed for the night.
