Doing What's Right For Network Marketing Success

Most people really get started in the wrong direction in network marketing. With the right company, you can create a recurring income that you can retire on, but only if you have a tested, proven system that works to build your business. And part of that system needs to be an understanding of what prospects really want.

When you deliver real value to your prospects, you have a chance. If you can't give them what they want, they will keep on looking. So what DO they want? It's not really complicated. They need to see if they like you, and if you like them. They want to know if your system is something they can do. Plus, they need to see whether you can help them.

You definitely need a strong plan to build relationships with people. And then on top of that, of course, you must be able to help them generate a steady stream of leads so they can build their business. If you can show that to them in a step-by-step simple plan, then you have a pretty good chance. People must know it's something they can do. Emphasize how straightforward and easy your plan is, and that it's very easy for them to learn and to teach others. Show them your system is easily duplicated, which is exactly what they'll need to for long-term success in MLM.

What could be worse than working with people you don't like? That's one reason people choose to build an MLM business - they want to escape from a job working with people they just don't respect or like. But sometimes a person loses sight of that fact and just wants to recruit anyone who will say "yes", and they sign up anybody they possibly can. Your best bet is to describe the people you really want at the start and stick to them.

One idea that works with a prospect is to ask yourself, "Is this someone I'd want to go on a 30-day cruise with?" Part of the value of MLM is that you get to pick the people you will work closely with. Why on earth choose people you just don't like? Instead, only go with people who you think would be a lot of fun to be around, who share your dreams and goals. It's very satisfying to find new close friends and then to support them in achieving their lifetime goals. It's depressing to have to talk again and again to an unmotivated person with whom you share nothing in common, and listen to them gripe about the business you love. You really need to have your standards set in your mind when you talk to people.

You can read more about these ideas and many others in Michael Dlouhy's e-book, "Success In 10 Steps." The book has been in great demand from frustrated network marketers, having been downloaded 100,000 times now. Dlouhy especially focuses in on the idea promoted by so many companies that you should begin by recruiting friends and family. That's a recipe for disaster. The high MLM failure rate means you'll wind up with a lot of family members upset or angry with you, and that's not good. And the fact is, you'll eventually run out of people you know and have to promote to a cold market anyway. So you may as well start there. Save your friends and family for later, after you've proven you can build a profitable business. A lot of worthwhile ideas in this book.
