Does Sex Sell at Trade Shows

The trade show industries have used sexy models to sell their products for the past few years. No shock here, because sex sells. We see sex ads all around us in our everyday lives; we see it on TV, billboards, buses and lately drive around ads. Do this method work for trade show exhibitors.

Trade show exhibitors tend to hire sexy models to stand around their product in their booth. A great deal of this is seen at various trade shows, SEMA show and the Auto shows are known for this. Does this sell product or services? Most attendees at there shows are males, males tend to like flashy cars and "booth babes" as they are refer to in this industry. This tends to draw attention to your booth.

"Booth Babe" or booth models can certainly be used to sell products, but they should be trained to sell or have some knowledge of your product. They should to be taught about your product at least some basic facts. Let’s say you place this "booth babe" or for better choice a booth Model (I tend not to like the acronym "Booth Babe" out to respect for the women in my life) by your new flashy car at the show, your product is selling rims for this car. Well teach your booth model what type of rims it is or some sorts of sales pitch on those rims. Do not just have them in your booth for just pictures.

Everyone in the show hall including the janitor will come up to be photographed with your booth Model, which you do not want. You want only qualified buyers. These qualified buyers would certainly respect you and your company much more if you had models that know your product and or your services. Use your model to sell, not just to look good and be show trophies. The models will be much more respected by your potential buyers and in return enhance your company’s image.

So, Let get back to the question on hand, does sex sell at trade show, overall, yes but it should be done with class and savvy which will enhance your sales and profit. Here is to your success
