Does God Exist?
That was my R. E. homework lol.

We all know that evil exist in this world, there's evidence of it everywhere. One little cut on your finger is a sign of evil, to great big things like earthquakes, murders, all those suffering, etc. But is there any evidence that God exist? Do we need proof of God? Well, I don't know about that but some people do need it.
God created the Devil as the leader of the Angels. But when he created Adam and Eve, the Devil didn't like them. He said to God that he'd do anything to make the humans go astray and try to lead them to Hell (the Devil's promised home). God said that his people won't listen to you, which are the believers. Anyway, Adam and Eve ate the fruit by accident which God had forbidden them to and they got sent down to Earth to live. They had to make their own way to Heaven, by being good on earth.
So, life's a test for us, human beings. God is testing us to see, with the knowledge from the Bible (if Christian), Qur'an (if Muslim) or Torah (if Jewish). To see, if we are doing good deeds, if we're believing Him. This life is only temporary for we have our everlasting life in Heaven or Hell. The most common theodicy is the free will theodicy. This is that God created evil so that we could then choose between good and evil, and make moral choices. If all choices result in good, there would be no moral choices. If love is acceptable, it must be chosen over hate and therefore evil and suffering result when we make morally poor choices. If there was no test for us, then we wouldn't care that there's Heaven and we wouldn't really care enough to practice our religion to really want to go Heaven. Of course God wouldn't want bad people in His Heaven, would He?
As for the Holocaust that took place in 1933 when Adolf Hitler came to power in Germany. It was basically the mass murder of Jews under the German Nazi. People ask why God let that great pain and suffering happen. Why did He let it happen when He could have saved all these innocent people from getting poisoned, tortured, and burned to death? It could have been a punishment for whatever sins they might have done in their past. It was also a test of faith (again) to how much are the German Nazi listening to the Devil and torturing the Jews. Or how much patience do the Jews have and how much they kept on remembering their God. You see, God can give happiness so he can also give suffering to the sinful ones.
