Do You Speak Binglish?

A mixture of bingo chat and English, Binglish was born and is not just popular within online bingo these days.
What is this word…Binglish? It is a combination of the words bingo and English and it is almost as though the popularity of playing bingo has spawned a whole new language. Some People say, "do you speak bingo" and I just like the way that "Binglish" sounds, it says it all so succinctly, wrapped up into one single word.

There are a whole load of words which have become pertinent to playing online bingo, not least of which are the simple word to understand such as cards and balls. These are obvious, but what about when you come across things like this…BOGOF, CM, CH. They are not so obvious, but it is simplicity itself really playing online bingo means that a great many acronyms have developed out of the games. And BOGOF for example, means "Buy one get one free".

All online bingo sites offer games where you are able to buy one ticket or card and get one free. So they use this acronym to describe these games. Then we have CM, all online bingo sites have people who moderate the chat in the chat rooms. This provides a host for the people who are playing bingo and also make sure that the players don’t get out of line. Some sites call them Chat Moderators - shortened to CM, some call them Chat Managers, again CM makes sense, and some sites call them Chat hosts, hence CH. But it all boils down to the same, the CM/CH is the person who provide players with a live online presence, helps new members get started, hosts the chat games and generally keeps everyone in line as well as entertained.

You will probably come across a great many different acronyms when you play online bingo and start to speak binglish. In the chat rooms the players make use of short forms of words and sentences to make sure they can type quickly and get the message across and there are loads of these. Some of them have evolved from the SMS era and others from IM, while others still pertain only to playing online bingo. The point is that these are being used and a whole new short form of language is evolving with is relative to bingo. For example again, we get ROFL…roll on the floor laughing, WTG…way to go….WD…well done…GL….good luck, and so on.
