Do You Know Why...?

Cute, obedient, delicate, shy, modest... next time any of you ladies get any of these compliments, remember, there are two sides to all coins... and allusions.
Do you know why Woman is compared to flowers?
It's not because she brings fragrance to those lives she touches;
It's because her existence can be crushed as easily as the dainty petals of a flower,
She can be made to submit to Man's Will, any time, by the mere use of brutal power.

Do you know why Woman is put up on a pedestal as the ultimate nurturer?
It's not solely because of her role as a mother and a wife...
She has been 'trained' to shoulder the burden that accompanies this moniker since time immemorial,
So that Man could let go of 'irrelevant' domestic and social trifles to enjoy a more eventful life.

Do you know why qualities such as frailty, modesty, silence and obedience
Are held up to reverence as the epitome of feminine grace?
It's because these very qualities make it easier to condemn Woman to a secondary existence
Without even letting Her feel the 'contempt' of her situation, pushing Her further towards submissive acceptance.

Do you know what makes me muse upon the darker side of all objects and qualities
That are, otherwise, regarded as the jewels that bedeck the bearings of the Ideal Woman?
Realization. I realized how foolish an ambition it is to try to be an Ideal Woman....
By doing so, am I not encouraging society to further oppress Her and make Her a slave of its whims and will?

Call me divergent if you will, I can understand if you're frustrated that you couldn't fool me into submission
I am no flower, you cannot crush my individuality;
I am not modest, you cannot keep me from having strong opinions nor annihilate my convictions;
I am not delicate, I can stand up for myself against an entire society of sick tyrants any time;
I am not obedient, I refuse to conform to what the majority says or does if I don't believe in it;
I am not frail, nor delicate as I will get up on my own every time you cowards group up and try to crush me.

Does it offend you that I have a mind of my own?
Does that keep me from being the Ideal Woman?
Yes, by your definitions, it does but I don't care
I'd rather be the thorn, a complete contrast to the stereotypical role of the nurturer,
And have my own way than dance to your tunes and let the fire within me wane away.
