You put up a wall
Tall and strong
Hiding feelings and secrets
Keeping the real you in
While you paint on smiles and faces
You have everyone fooled
They all assume what they see is what they get
I can’t break through it
But it’s becoming more translucent with every broken look
They sometimes catch me off guard but I'm learning a little more everyday.
At night I lay in bed and think
Why can’t you just see what I see?
Why can’t you find who you are and what you want to be
If you knew who you are, you wouldn’t do the things you do
You wouldn’t want to lose yourself.
I love how I can see everything you are.
When you are still so blind
If you would take the chance to look inside
You would find it, and never want to let go
