Dizziness after eating is, most of the time, a symptom of some kind of disorder, occurring in the nervous or digestive system. Osteoarthritis: Older people may develop hardening of the arteries (arthritis) or joints in the neck (osteoarthritis). Such disorders cause pressure on the nerves and blood vessels. This makes the patient feel dizzy and nauseous after eating.
Gastritis: The condition in which the lining of the stomach gets inflamed is called gastritis. Dizziness and feeling tired after eating is a common symptom. Treatment of Dizziness After Eating
- Simple food will help a lot in decreasing the severity of gastritis. If possible, eat only fruits and vegetables only for a few days. You can resume to a balanced diet after the gastritis has subsided.
- Stay away from spices, strong tea or coffee, sauces, condiments, alcohol, tobacco, cakes, pastries, tinned items and aerated drinks.
- Never skip breakfast and take all the meals on time. Try to have dinner two hours before going to bed.
- Try to keep yourself tension free by removing the cause of stress and depression itself. A light walk in the morning, swimming, and yoga meditations will help you lead a tension free life.
- Coconut water helps in good functioning of digestive system, and thus prevents dizziness after eating.
- Rice gruel assists in sufficient production of gastric juice, very necessary for proper digestion. Have rice gruel once or twice a day.
- Amla juice relieves the feeling of dizziness and fatigue to a great extent. You can take 2-3 teaspoons of amla juice twice or thrice a day.
- Saunf stimulates the production of saliva. Saliva decreases the effect of gastritis.
