The couple reportedly finalized their divorce on Wednesday in Bexar County Courthouse in San Antonio, Texas. Singer-songwriter Charlie Robison filed for divorce in January. A rep for him confirmed the divorce Wednesday and said the couple "remain close friends and their family is the priority and will continue to be." According to the divorce papers, the marriage had "become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities."
The couple was married on May 1, 1999. They have three children together, all conceived via invirto fertilization. The couple’s son Charles Augustus, called Gus, was born on November 11, 2002 and their twins Julianna Tex and Henry Benjamin were born on April 14, 2005. Robison has said that she was "shocked" when she didn’t get pregnant right away, but is aware of the good fortune that both she and her sister have had.
Robison, her sister Martie Maguire, and Natalie Maines make up the popular group the Dixie Chicks. Maguire suffered from infertility as well as her sister and has had three daughters via invitro fertilization as well. She and her husband Gareth Maguire have four-year old fraternal twins Eva Ruth and Kathleen Emilie and just welcomed daughter Harper Rosie in July 2008. Maines is married to actor Adrian Pasdar and they have two sons – 7-year old Jackson Slade and 4-year old Beckett Finn. The song "So Hard" tells of Robison and Maguire’s problems getting pregnant and their feelings on the struggles.
