Divided Hearts - Chapter 4

Just before Sabrina and her gang come along, Zac and Sophie arrive to the Gardens, a little early :) Btw guys, sorry I haven't been uploading, but I'm on holidays now, so I'll be uploading more often x.
"Call me when you want a ride ok? I’ll be available whenever you want me." I saw my sister’s car become smaller in the distance, wondering how long this no alcohol; no drugs sort of thing would last. I looked at my watch, 20 minutes early. I would probably be here for another 30 minutes on my own, given that the girls will probably ‘fashionably late’. I sat down on the garden’s water fountain and watched as the purple sky became black in a long 15 minutes. I got up and started walking around, and then I felt a strong hand around my waist, and another cup over my mouth to stop me from screaming. That didn’t stop me from kicking and thrashing though. I managed to elbow whoever it was in the stomach and when they removed their hands from around me I spun around to punch them in the face, next thing I know he was on the floor.

"I must say, for a girl, you can throw quite a punch." Said Zac’s weak voice from the floor. He rolled over and emitted a groan.

"Shit, Zac, I’m so sorry, I thought you were some weirdo trying to rape me!" I explained, as I rushed over to his side.

"Well, I did grab you and cover your mouth." He said matter-of-factly. Then he let out another large groan.

"I’m so sorry, come over to the fountain to put some water on the bruise it’ll make it feel better." I carefully slipped my hand round his back, and helped him over to the fountain.

Zac’s P.O.V

She started to cup water into her hands and pushed my hair back and pour it over the now swelling bruise. She did it so carefully, without hurting me at all. Sophie looked so beautiful with the moonlight shining on her.

"You look really pretty." I smiled at her, sounding a lot more confident than I felt.

"Excluding the fact you have a purple bruise on the side of your head, you don’t look to bad either, or maybe it compliments you, gives off a manly vibe." At this she puffs out her chest and talks in a deep voice. I smile.

"You're feeling ok?" She asks guiltily.

"I’m fine honestly." I stood up and immediately felt a rush of blood come to my head, I swayed and almost fell over, but Soph caught me and sat me back down, so much for being manly.

"Oh god it doesn’t look great." She muttered. Then the word hospital popped into my mind, I hate hospitals, I don’t mind being in them if I’m not the one in the hospital bed though.

"Please don’t take me to the hospital, please." I begged her. She titled her head sideways.
"We’ll give it another minute or two see how you are, but if you feel dizzy or sleepy or can’t remember anything like that, then I’m taking you straight to the hospital." I nod, grateful that she’s here.

A couple of minutes pass, Soph kept putting water on my head where my bruise was, she was right it did feel better with the cool water running over it.

"Wanna try again?" She asked, and I nodded. "Just don’t sit up too fast this time, cause the blood might rush to your head again and you could fall over." She said.

I place my hands on the edge of the fountain, and slowly push myself up. I’m a little light-headed but only for a second. Sophie looks worried and has her arms out in case I need something to grab on to.

"See I’m fine." I say, gesturing to my body. I laugh as relief washes over her face. "Have you ever danced before?" I ask her. She shakes her head looking confused.

"I can’t dance to save my life." She smiles. "You can though, you’re pretty impressive, with all those leaps and twirls, she takes off her heels before she starts twirling around, her light brown hair becoming a blur." She starts giggling a little and then laughing. Her laugh is amazing, beautiful and tinkly. Then she starts spinning off in different directions, eventually coming towards me. I stop her by grabbing her. Soph sways a bit and almost falls over; she’s gone all dizzy from the spinning. I catch her though.

Sophie’s P.O.V

He catches me, just as I’m about to topple over from all the spinning. Zac’s fingers are all rough but it feels nice when he strokes my face as we stand there with each other. It was magical, like a moment in a movie, as corny as that might sound.

"Oh God." Zac says as he rolls his eyes and looks down and pulls away from me, I look down too because I was enjoying it to be just the two of us.

"Zaccy!" Sabrina squeals throws her arm around him and gives me a dirty look, while Zac isn’t facing me. As she pulls away her smile returns and she squeals my name too, pulling me into a hug as well.

"Zac, let me introduce you to my friends." Sabrina giggled, "This is Amber." She said pointing to a tall skinny girl with green eyes and blonde hair, Amber is Sabrina’s second at school, basically if they were pictures you could’ve just photocopied her off Sabrina. "And this is Amy." She said pointing to a short girl, who also was extremely skinny with jet, black hair and deep blue eyes. She was the nicest out of the 3, but she was still pretty nasty.

The moment was starting to get awkward after Zac shook the girl’s hands and was quiet settled. Then Sabrina grabbed Zac’s hand, and pulled him along, telling us all that unless we get there soon the DJ is going to start and we won’t get a good spot. I wasn’t in any rush so I took my time to walk over to the gates from the fountain, but Sabrina ‘forgot’ something back next to the fountain so I saw her run back to get it. She was actually just coming over to me.

"He’s mine, so stay away you little bitch of a boyfriend stealer or I’ll make your life a living hell at school." She whispers in my ear and walks off with a pleased look on her face. She ran back to Zac, Amber and Amy and I saw Zac turn around and mouth a sorry to me.
I was scared now though, Sabrina and her girls were already giving her hell at school, and she wondered how it could be any worse. Although I’m sure, knowing Sabrina, that she’d find a way to do it easily enough. Maybe tonight wouldn’t be so great if Sabrina was going to be clinging to Zac like cling wrap, I wouldn’t get to spend time with anyone I knew.
What do you think?
Great keep going.
Stop, just stop.
Needs improvement.
