Disneyland - How to Avoid the Frustration of Long Lines

Disneyland, you've heard about it since you were a kid, but you've never been there. Maybe your friends or someone from school raved about how much fun they had while there on vacation. But now it's your turn. You are finally taking the trip down to Mickey's House yourself and you're excited. You should be, it's an amazing place.

Although Disneyland is unlike any amusement park you'll ever visit, you might become a bit frustrated. Why? Well if you've been to an amusement park, which I'm quite sure you have, you know there's an unsettling problem that awaits you. The dreaded long lines to board the popular rides that will take your breath away. Nothing is more disheartening than to see a 2 1/2 hour wait for a ride at Disneyland.

Now I have to give the staff at Disneyland credit. While you're waiting to board your favorite ride, they try and keep you entertained or distracted to help the time pass by quicker. But if you're not a patient person you run the risk of becoming very frustrated if you're not prepared.

So here are some tips that might help you avoid the long lines at Disneyland.

One favorite option is using Disneyland Fastpass. You can obtain FastPasses from machines located near the rides that accept Fastpass. With this tool, you're almost scheduling an appointment for the ride later in the day at which time you get to move to the front of the line. It works like this, say your FastPass ticket says 1pm to 2pm. That means you can show up between the hours of 1pm and 2pm and move to the front of the line. Fastpasses are available for pretty much all of the theme parks like Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Indiana Jones and the like.

Other options to avoid the long lines at Disneyland consists of the early bird getting the worm. Try to get to the park early when it first opens. Then seek out the most popular rides you want to try first. If you're not an early riser than try to board those rides later in the evening. A lot of people are still wrapped up with the nightly entertainment, so this is a good time to find lines to rides that are shorter. You'll miss the entertainment, but who cares, it's the rides you wanted anyway right?
