Dishwasher not Draining
Is your dishwasher not draining completely? Read the following article to know why that happens and what to do about it.

Solution for Dishwasher not Draining Completely
When you find that the dishwasher is not draining fully, you'll have to take up certain steps of plumbing to assure that it begins to function properly again. Here's how:
Identify Type
First of all, identify the type of dishwasher that you have. Is it a forward reversing or direct drive dishwasher. A direct drive dishwasher is one in which the dishwasher simply drains out the water. Whereas a forward reversing dishwasher has a motor in it that will stop and start to move in the opposite direction. If there is a problem with the motor, then the end result is that of the dishwasher not draining fully and that's where the problem lies.
Check for Garbage Disposal
Sometimes, a garbage disposal is installed into the kitchen area that shares it's space with the dishwasher unit. Check to see if the knock-out plug of the garbage disposal was removed before installing it. If not, that is what might be causing the clogging. If this was not done, then simply remove it and the dishwasher should work as good as new.
Check the Drain
More often than not, the clogging of the drain will lead to dishwasher not draining all the way. Check to see if the water in the sink takes a long time to go into the pipe and whether it is accompanied by water bubbles. If this is the case, it means that you need to unclog kitchen sink. Disconnect the pipe and check to see if there is any debris or build up. Then use sink drain repair to get rid of the problem.
While you are at it, check to see the pipe that separately connects the water supply to the dishwasher. The build up might well be in this pipe.
Inspect the Dishwasher Basket
Check the dishwasher basket next. Slowly and gently, disconnect the basket and check to see if there is any gunk and debris build up in this. If there is plenty, this might be the problem of why dishwasher not draining completely. All you need to do is clean all the parts thoroughly. But be careful not to exert any pressure or force and bend the parts out of shape. Remember you have to fit them back again. Clean the basket with wet rags and then fit back.
Get Help
All these methods mentioned above are fairly easy to handle by oneself. However, in spite of doing all this, if the dishwasher is still not draining fully, then get some help. A plumber, on inspection, could well find that the problem is in the more delicate parts like the pump, the motor, timer, temperature of water, etc. These are things best left to the professionals because one may end up making the problem worse, if they don't know what exactly is to be done.
But rest assured, in more cases than not, the problem of dishwasher not draining, lies mainly in a small part. Which, on inspection and a thorough cleaning, should work just fine. So get ready to engage in some cleaning and fixing! All the best!
