Discharge During Ovulation
Vaginal discharge during ovulation changes its color and consistency from time to time. Read on to know about the changes that take place in vaginal mucous around ovulation.

Ovulation
Menstrual cycles in women range from 23 days to 35 days, with majority of women having cycles of 28 to 32 days. If the first day of the cycle is counted as day one, the process of ovulation in a woman will occur between the days ten and nineteen.
Ovulation is the process in which the ovaries release a mature egg, which travels down the fallopian tube, where it might meet with a sperm and get fertilized, and finally implant itself in the lining of the uterus, known as endometrium lining. If the egg is not fertilized, then the egg follows the same journey through the fallopian tubes into the uterus, but implantation in this case does not take place. Instead, the thickened uterus lining begins to shed, resulting in menstruation.
Discharge During Ovulation
When a woman is ovulating, there are a lot of hormonal changes that take place inside her body. In fact, two hormones, named estrogen and progesterone rise and fall at various points during the whole ovulation process. These changes produce a number of changes in the discharge during, before or after ovulation.
Less or No Discharge
After a woman's periods have ended, she might have no discharge or very small amount of vaginal discharge. She would experience dryness in her vagina, for a few days. These few days, there are few chances of the woman to get pregnant.
White Discharge During Ovulation
Nearing ovulation, the woman starts getting a white colored discharge. The mucus is very slippery and if the woman tries to stretch it with her two fingers, she can not go beyond one cm without breaking it.
Stretchy Discharge During Ovulation
During ovulation, which is the most fertile period in a woman and when there are very high chances conceiving, the vaginal discharge starts resembling an egg white in consistency. The discharge may be transparent or white in color and if the woman stretches it between her fingers, it will not break even if stretched for a few centimeters. During this period, the sperm can survive in this mucous for around three days, making it an ideal time to conceive.
Sticky Discharge After Ovulation
Post ovulation the discharge becomes sticky again. The woman might again feel dryness around the vagina as there could be no or lesser discharge.
Brown Discharge During Ovulation
If a woman is experiencing a brown discharge or scanty bleeding, almost like spotting , in the middle of her menstrual cycle, it could be implantation bleeding. Around twenty percent of all pregnant women have experienced such a discharge or bleeding during early pregnancy.
Changes in discharge during ovulation are experienced by all women and there is nothing to get worried about. However, if there is green or yellow discharge during ovulation, accompanied by vaginal irritation, pain or any kind of discomfort or if there is soreness in and around vagina and rashes, there is a possibility that an infection has developed in the area. In such a scenarios, without any delay, the woman should consult a gynecologist.
