Disaster - Chapter Eight
Thank you all for your views on my book so far. I really appreciate it! Keep them coming!
Farrah's POV
I was on a stretcher, and was being rushed into the ER. All around me were people who were bleeding, needed kidney transplants, people missing parts of their body, and other things I would only see in my worst nightmare.
"Alright, Doctor," a white, blonde hair woman said holding a clipboard. "We have to start this immediately."
"Alright, Farrah. We're going to make you asleep and once you wake up, your baby will be here. Alright?"
I nodded my head as he put a mask over my nose and mouth.

Peter's POV
I rushed into the hospital and asked where Farrah was. The woman had told me. "You're going to sit down in a seat over there." She said pointing to a section where a family and a couple were sitting.
"Alright," I said catching my breath. "Thanks." I went over and sat next to the couple. The girl had been dressed in a dressy top with jeans and the boy was in a plain white shirt with jeans. They both had fear in their eyes. "Hello," I said as the girl looked over at me.
"Hi," she said smiling a little bit. "What are you here for?"
"My girlfriend is having a baby. What about you?"
"His mother is getting a serious surgery. We're waiting for the results."
"That must be scary."
She laughed a little. He's the metal wall, and left. "I'm sorry," she said to the nurse as she left.
"He's really nervous. He hasn't said a word since he found out. Right, Liam?"
He looked over at her, and looked away. She shrugged and smoothed her hair. "I'm sorry." He said to her.
She looked over at him and smiled. "It's okay babe." She kissed his forehead and leaned back in her seat. They had reminded me of Farrah and I, we were always like that. She would sometimes not talk to me, then apologize.
A doctor came over and I was hoping it was good news. "Liam, your mother didn't survive the surgery."
He smashed his hand again, she sat back with tears in her eyes and turned towards me. "Liam's mom was a good woman. She treated me as if I were her daughter..."
"I'm sorry."
She started crying even more and kept apologizing.
"What's your name?"
"Lea."
"Lea, everything will be alright. I promise you."
"Thanks, but it won't be for a while."
"It will be. Just give it time."
"Thank you. Well it was nice meeting you. I better go, thanks for keeping me company."
I waved goodbye and sat there waiting for someone to tell me anything about how Farrah was. Another nurse came over to me and told her to come with her. When I went into the room and saw Farrah was asleep. The doctor introduced himself and told me that the baby was in another room being tested.
"The baby was born prematurely, so we have to make sure nothing is wrong with him."
"Him? It's a boy?"
"Yes. Did you and Farrah ever discuss baby names?"
"Now that I come to think of it.... No."
"Alright, well you two can discuss it a little after she wakes up. For now you can just sit in that chair and wait for the baby to come in or Farrah to wake up."
"Alright, thank you doctor."
I sat down and grabbed and pen and paper on the table next to me. I used to love writing but then stopped once I got into the orphanage. I started writing to Farrah, telling her what was going through my mind, and how I had a feeling the baby would end up being okay. A few minutes later, the baby came out, sleeping in the nurse's arms. I put the paper and pen on the table as the nurse handed the baby to me.
"Doctor!" A nurse yelled! "Her heartbeat is slowing down!"
The doctor ran in as the nurses took the baby. "You need to go." One of them said guiding me out and shutting the door.
"Farrah!" I said banging on the door. "Farrah! Please wake up!"
