My son Nick called a few nights ago. And believe it or not, it wasn’t to ask me for money! He and his friends were watching the highlights from the Bears game and he called to thank me for his birthday gift. I’d given him Direct TV NFL Sunday Ticket and thanks to their automatic Monday morning download of Sunday’s highlights, Nick and his buddies were watching them again on a Friday night.

That one drives my wife nuts. I told her if it was shopping channels instead of football games, she’d have no trouble keeping up. It still drives her nuts when I watch it, but at least now she keeps her mouth shut about it.

In fact, it does. What Nick doesn’t know is that I also have the Superfan add-on. I think he’d be angry if I told him. With Superfan I can watch up to 180 games in HD. If you haven’t watched your favorite team in HD, you can’t even imagine the difference.

My favorite feature and the one my wife really hates is the Game Mix. It allows me to watch 8 games, including live video and audio, the current score, field position, possession and the game clock. I use my remote to switch the audio from one game to another and if I want to watch one in particular, I just highlight it. It’s an awesome feature and I highly recommend it.

The real reason Nick would be upset that I have Superfan and he doesn’t is because of Supercast. If I can’t get to the TV for some reason (wife watching QVC, Lifetime movie, whatever) I get live streams of the games sent directly to my PC. How’s that for never missing a minute of action? Supercast is new and if I hadn’t gone here (click on the link) who knows how long it may have taken me to find out about it?
