Most mothers often complain about running out of dinner ideas for kids, especially dinner ideas for picky kids. If kids do not eat half of the ingredients used to make the dishes, it can be very frustrating for the mother. The mother often has a tough time deciding on a dinner menu for the house. It can be due to the fact that the man of the house may want to eat a particular dish, while the kid may be picky and may not approve of the said dish. It can be a rather difficult phase if the condition lasts too long than anticipated. While the mothers want to know some quick dinner ideas, they also want the kids to eat healthy food. In this article, not all the dinner ideas may be healthy, but we will try to make the dishes healthier.

Stew
One of the healthiest as well as simple dinner idea is to make stew. There are a variety of options which you can choose from. You can either make vegetarian stew or opt for non vegetarian stews. Making stews is also easy and fast. All you will need is to brown vegetables and/or meat pieces and then simmer them in water. Add salt and seasoning according to your choice. Most vegetables can be used to make stew. If your kid is rather fussy, then you will have to cut the vegetables into small pieces so that the child is not able to find the vegetables used in the stew.

Pasta
Pasta makes for a good and quick dinner idea for kids. They can also be used for kids birthday party dinner ideas. You can either opt to make the oft tried and tested macaroni and cheese, or combine spaghetti and meatballs. Vegetables, like bell pepper, broccoli, mushrooms, carrots, etc. can be added to the dish to make it healthier. Likewise instead of using red meatballs, you can opt for white meat balls.

Sandwiches
Like the stew, you can either opt for vegetable sandwiches or meat sandwiches. If your child is fond of meat, then you can brown some meat and add seasonings to it to make sandwiches using the meat. Alternatively the vegetables can also be used grilled sandwiches. Personally I like to combine sandwiches with soups and make it into a healthy dinner.

Salad
If you are looking for healthy dinner ideas, then you will certainly like this idea. Colorful vegetables can be combined to make salad. You can make use of different salad dressing recipes to make the salad more interesting.

Calzones
If your child is fond of pizzas, then calzones is something your kid will certainly relish. Calzones are nothing but folded over pizza. Where instead of placing the toppings over the base, the toppings are baked into the dough. Due to this there is a delicious crust all the way around, and the center of the calzone is rather delectable. It is a great dinner idea for picky eaters.

Chicken Fingers
Grilled chicken strips is a great choice for dinner. You can choose to grill the chicken with the bones or without the bones. If the kid is very picky, then you may want to grill the chicken without the bones on a skewer, which will not give the kid a chance to fuss about.

Cutlets
They are my personal favorite. They make for interesting vegetarian dinner ideas. Different combinations can be used to make rather interesting cutlets. One of the favorite cutlets is golden baked pork cutlets. Serve them with sauce of your choice.

Baked Ziti
Baked ziti is among the great supper ideas for kids. It is quite a filling dish and which also appeals to a picky eater. You will need to bake it for about 40 minutes, putting the dish together is not difficult. Once the ziti has been placed in the oven to bake, you will have to take measures to entertain the kids.

While you whip up dinner for your child, you will also have to make sure that your kids eat healthy food. However, at times you may have to let go the healthy aspect of food and let them eat fast food as well, as we are all aware that eating similar kind of food all the time can become very boring.
