A Different Kind of Footprints

The life of a prodigal…
One night I had a puzzling dream
Sets of footprints on the shore was seen
The footprints of my precious Lord
And mine beside as the ocean roared
-
But then a strange phenomenon
I asked the Lord "What have You done?"
The prints for a time have disappeared
Then in the distance have reappeared
-
"My child," He said in patient tone
"You and I would walk alone
I challenged you to seek My face
Take up your cross and walk in grace.
-
"You disobeyed, you would not lean
Your faith based only on what you'd seen
In wandering off outside My care
A wave washed in you did not hear.
-
Because in life there comes a time
When patience sometimes crossed a line
But the trial you faced while out at sea
Finally returned you back to Me."
