Differences between Imus and Rev. Wright

I am so disappointed in a lot of these answers to the question. I am black and I am a fan of Don Imus. I hope that Mr. Imus was trying to make a joke that just didn’t come out right or he misunderstood the meaning behind what he said. Sometimes it’s not what you say but how and when you say it. A lot of people even black think no one should use the N word. However, it is a large difference when a black person calls another the N word and when a white person says it. It shouldn't be hard to understand why black people take offense when a white person calls a black person by that word. The word originated actually because whites at the beginning of slavery could not pronounce Nigeria so they shorten it and started calling the human beings that they where in slaving Nige. Over time that turn into what is know the N-word. Is it really that hard to understand that a word that was born from the taking of some lives created by slave masters and traders would be still open old wounds? So blacks in an attempt to take some of that negative power away from the word started using it as a term of love for others of their same heritage.

Jeremiah Wright spoke a lot of truths and should not be labeled a racist for that. Wright as Imus has done a lot for him community. People we need to wake and realize this is a racist country still. Just because we want to close our eyes to the past and say it is different now doesn’t make it true. Now some ignorant people after reading that sentence will say, well that’s not true cause I’m not racist. And maybe you are not but this is still a racist country. Granted we have come a long way, but we have a long way to go.

A lot of people think this country brought 911 on itself. This does not mean that the people who share these views fell it was right. Does not mean that they are not deeply sorry for the innocent lives that where lost that day. Does not mean they do not love this country. It simply means the US of A has done a lot of bad things to other countries and its own citizens to justify their own agenda. This is just simply fact. Just like the war we are currently in and no not the war on TERRORISM. Iraq had nothing to do with 911. Again, Iraq had nothing to do with 911. This government lied and manipulated information to go to war with Iraq. Read and research, ask yourself why we where attacked on 911. Many of you don’t even know that the CIA trained Bin Laden and his followers how to be terrorists. The camps the media loves showing of Bin Laden solders training the CIA told them how to set them up. Bin Laden and his solders fought against the Russians with America, and once America was done with them they just left them. Ask yourself how you would feel, if you sacrifice to help someone and then once they got what they need they left you stranded. And in no way do I feel it was right what happened on 911. I just understand why Rev. Wright made some of the comments Rev. Wright said.
