Diet Patch for Women
For the all the women, reading this, diet patch for women is not a thing unheard of. They supposedly assist in weight loss by way of getting active weight loss substances into our system. But do diet patches really work is a contentious issue. Find out the answer to this by scrolling down.
After diet pills, a thing called diet patch for women are selling like hot cakes. A diet patch is apparently a dieter's dream. Its mechanism is that it sticks to your skin like a band aid and delivers weight loss ingredients into your body by trickling in. The appetite suppressants first enter the skin and then they get into the blood stream. That is the way these diet patches are believed to work. Seems impressive and easy? Well, it is definitely not the case. Many of the claims of one of the ingredients of diet patches have been touted as nothing less than dodgy. Now that I have mentioned diet patch ingredients, let me tell you more about it.
Ingredients in Diet Patches
The ingredients of diet patches are varied. Some of them contain iodine, which enhances the metabolism through the thyroid gland. A few others have 5-HTP which is a serotonin precursor meant for reducing food cravings and appetite. Other ingredients which are also main constituents of diet pills are Guarana or Brazilian cocoa, l Carnitrine, flaxseed oil, zinc citrate, green tea, zinc pyruvate, DHEA, yerba mate and lecithin. Garcinia cambogia is another ingredient which brings about weight loss because of its property of aborting the conversion of carbohydrates into fat. Other significant ingredients are:
Hoodia: Just as there are hoodia diet pills, there is a hoodia diet patch, with the main ingredient being hoodia. Hoodia has been touted as being effective for staving off starvation. It is believed that it works on the part of the brain which regulates appetite and satisfaction. However, these claims have not been fully proved scientifically and medically. Therefore, it cannot be guaranteed that it leads to weight loss. It may or it may not.
Fucus Vesiculosus: Known as brown seaweed and bladderwrack, this is another major ingredient of diet patches for women. Basically it has a high level of iodine, which is lapped up by our thyroid gland for production of hormones that improve your metabolism. This works better in case of sluggish thyroid symptoms. By adding to the iodine content for thyroid, through fucus vesiculosus, the diet patch supposedly speeds up the metabolism, leading to losing weight. However, it helps in reducing cravings caused by insulin resistance. But this has been said to work if you have gained weight on account of slow metabolism rate and not because of sedentary lifestyle and overeating. Even after all this, the question still remains that how effective are these diet patches? Take a look.
Do Diet Patches Really Work?
Now we get to the depth of matter, as to how great and beneficial are these diet patches? Be it a green tea diet patch, a pink diet patch or a hoodia diet patch. As mentioned an umpteen number of times, these diet patches have appetite suppressants, which enter the blood stream through the skin and lead to reduction in weight. The claims of weight loss as a result of these diet patches have not been medically or scientifically proved. Even hoodia, as described earlier, which is the best selling diet patch has not been proved to be actually contributing to improving metabolism and thus reduction in weight. There is another argument in favor of these diet patches for women. One of the opinions is that for the ingredients to be effective, they have to work quickly. On the other hand, it is being opined that whatever the application, the result is the same. In addition to this, there are quite a few side effects of the substances found in diet patches, like those listed above.
Eventually none of these tall claims have been said to be authentic and clinically proven. In fact in some cases these have been proven to be a total sham. Personally I feel that this idea of using a diet patch containing some appetite suppressing ingredients helping you shed those extra pounds, is not something which can tickle my little grey cells.
Lastly, diet patch for women is not a thing you would really want to experiment on I guess. Hence, unless you have money in amounts you do not know what to do and want to add that to someone else's kitty, skip these diet patches!
