Diet for Rosacea
Rosacea is a skin disorder that generally affects the face. In this condition the face appears red. Symptoms include pimples or bumps, watery eyes and dry flaky skin. People suffering from rosacea do not not have a healthy pH level in their blood. The blood pH is lower than normal. This happens because the body has less oxygen. We all know that body requires oxygen to stay healthy. Alkaline water is highly oxygenated and an abundant source of oxygen.

Mineral water contains high amount of oxygen and helps in improving the blood pH. However, along with water, having a special diet, recommended for rosacea, is equally important to combat this unusual skin condition. When it comes to rosacea diet, it is essential to avoid foods that do not heal the patient. They are certain foods that need to be avoided as they can aggravate the condition. These include spicy foods, cheese, hot beverages and alcohol.

Studies have shown that alkaline diet helps in fighting rosacea. Foods that are alkaline in nature work to detoxify and deoxidize the body's internal system. Due to its cleansing nature, alkaline diet is often prescribed for rosacea patients. Alkaline foods help to remove toxins out of the body. The diet for rosacea includes cleansing vegetables (carrots, spinach), soups and juices, lower sugar fruits, salads and omega oils. Raw vegetables organically grown have excellent healing properties. These food provide nutrition to the skin which helps to alleviate the condition of the skin.

Rosacea is considered to be a vascular problem, wherein the blood vessels do not function properly. Stimulants such as sugar, alcohol and cigarettes can cause vascular dilation (enlarged blood vessels). This can cause excessive redness and rosacea pimples. Fizzy drinks, that contain aspartame or artificial sweeteners, may aggravate skin problems of rosacea sufferers. Acidic foods that include coffee and tea are vascular dilators (they expand the blood vessels). These foods under any circumstances should not be consumed as they can wreak havoc in the body. Green tea contains a variety of antioxidant chemicals, that can prevent worsening of rosacea.

Studies have revealed that sodas and soft drinks have caused excessive redness in about 30% of rosacea patients. Drinking juices of fresh vegetables would certainly provide great relief from rosacea. If one doesn't feel like eating, having a glass of fresh vegetable juice can be a good option. One can also eat berries (blueberry, blackberry) as they are low-sugar fruits and contain vitamin C. Whole grains like brown rice, buckwheat, and lightly steamed vegetables can also be included in your alkaline diet. A vegetarian diet high in fiber is best suited for rosacea. One must avoid lamb, pork, beef and chicken skin, and fried foods as they promote inflammation. For rosacea patients doctors often recommend to cool their food before eating.

A diet rich in alkaline foods can definitely improve rosacea noticeably. Rosacea has been disappearing in many patients with these alkaline foods. An alkaline diet has shown massive improvements in the overall appearance of their skin. It is a powerful healing diet and the right approach to clear rosacea.
