Diary of Vonnie Roberts 2

Next section of the story. Really hope it's enjoyable. I'm open to constructive criticism, but not rudeness. Anything that can help improve my stories will be a blessing. Happy reading!
First of all, I would just like to say how GOBSMACKED I was when I saw the number of people that voted positively on the poll, and also the number of support I got from the comments.
A couple of you asked what nationality the names are; they are traditionally Jamaican.
Thanks for the positive energy. Take care readers.

Dear Diary,

Today, when I walked into Graphics, things were not the same as usual.

In need of an explanation? Well when I walked into double Graphics, I took my seat at one of the computers in the far left of the classroom. I'm the only girl in my class and there are only about 10 students in it anyway, so I normally just keep to myself in one corner while the boys are all evenly paired up in the rest of the space.

After I had signed into my computer, I turned around to face Mr Bachelor, my teacher, who was waiting for the boys to all take their seats. Once everyone was settled he started the lesson.

"Okay, welcome back to Graphics, I hope you all had a nice Easter break. I also hope that you are ready to LEARN!" He said the last part with more enthusiasm. I couldn't quite figure out if sarcasm was mixed in there or not. I heard some snickering and mumbling coming from the boys while he said this; clearly they weren't ready to LEARN!

Mr Bachelor continued "We're going to start with an activity that requires you to work in pairs, so organize yourself please."

I just assumed that the boys had all paired up as usual so I figured I would work by myself. That's when I heard a familiar voice from behind me:

"Erm, Sir?"
"Yes?"
"I don't have a partner."
"Ohhhhh, umm, let's see, everyone is in a pair a part from....OH! Vonnie, you can come over here and work with this gentleman."

I froze. Suddenly I lost the ability to hear anything a part from the sound of my own name being called. My vision went a bit blurry and suddenly I was getting nervous.

I turned to see Mr Bachelor smiling at me. I looked at the new guy who was sitting at the computer Mr Bachelor was standing in front of. When he saw I was looking, he signaled with a swift nod, for me to move over to where he was. I smiled nervously and nodded back, turning to sign out of my computer whilst panicking inside. I picked up my bag and walked over to where the new guy was sat. He had two empty seats either side of him, and I didn't know which one to go for, so I was relieved when he pulled out a chair for me. I said, "Thanks." sheepishly and sat down. He said coolly "No problem." I looked at him; he was smiling at me in a friendly way, so I smiled back.

For some reason, the ability to talk had left me, and my stomach had dropped to my ankles! I had a strange sensation to throw up, but I knew that wouldn't be the best idea at this moment in time. There was also this incessant thudding noise growing from the root of my ears - Oh wait that was my heart.

Mr Bachelor hushed the class again and began to give us instructions. He handed out three pieces of paper to each pair. After he was finished telling us what to do, he said with a laugh, "Good luck.....You're gonna need it!" Then he sat down at his desk and began typing on his laptop.

I looked at the new guy to find him already looking at me. I smiled and said, "So where should we start?" He looked at the three pieces of paper on our desk and said, "How about we work through each paper individually?" I thought carefully, saying "I dunno, do we have enough time to do them individually?" He smirked, "Only time will tell." Then he picked up one of the sheets of paper and started reading it. I did the same.

We eventually agreed that I would be in charge of researching on the computer, and he would be in charge of writing the reports up on the sheets.

We got along really well. Diary, he's really nice! It was amazing, most of the guys in my graphics class are prats, but this new guy was funny and serious at the same time! He also seemed quite clever, which made our conversations interesting as well as witty.

It was half an hour into the first hour of the lesson, when I realized I didn't even know his name. I turned to look at his face. He looked at mine, after a pause, he said "Are you ok?" I chuckled and said "I just realized that I don't even know your name." He smirked and said, "I'm Theo." I smiled, even his name oozed coolness. "Ah ok." I replied. I looked back at my computer screen thinking that was the end of the conversation.

"What's yours again?" I looked at him in surprise; I wasn't expecting him to care about my identity. "Oh, I'm Vonnie." I stated. "That's a really nice name....Vonnie...." His words lingered on and a thoughtful yet smug expression wondered onto his face as he turned back to his computer screen.

"Thanks." I said, I continued to stare at him. I had to admit it, he was good-looking. He had sharp facial features that matched his dark complexion and big brown eyes. Along with his height, and obvious firm build, he seemed like a dream guy. At this point I couldn't help but think about the way he looked at me on the way out of Sociology yesterday. There was just something about that look.

I ushered the thoughts out of my head. He was being friendly; it would be ridiculous if I started fantasizing about him now. Besides, he was probably staring at Leah....Yeah, he was staring at Leah. I'm sure of it. I mean, she's beautiful, pale complexioned, thin legs, and big boobs. Exactly what a guy wants at this age right?

Anyway we carried on doing the work for the rest of the two hours, whilst joking about nearly everything we came across. At the end of the lesson, we both stood up to get ready to leave.

I put my bag over my shoulder and asked him whether he wanted to keep the sheets of paper we had been working on.

"Err, yeah I'll keep them. Just remind me to bring them in again yeah?" He said with a grin.

I smiled, craning my neck to look up at him, "When should I remind you?"

He smiled down at me, "Remind me during Sociology tomorrow."
I nodded. "Remember though, if I remember to bring them on Thursday but you don't remember to remind me tomorrow....I'll know." He added with a wink.

My face was on fire, and I began giggling like a hyena for no reason at all. That was one hell of a wink! Why oh why Diary, do I always embarrass myself in front of him!

He chuckled, while I walked towards the door, trying to hide my face with my folder. I said goodbye to him, and he said "See you next lesson!" with a grin.

As I was walking out of the doorway I looked back over my shoulder to glimpse at him one last time, only to find him staring straight at me, the same way he did yesterday at the end of Sociology. What was it about that look? Was it something in his eyes? Was it the crease of curiosity on his brow?

Next lesson was sociology, and suddenly I couldn't wait to get there. I was walking down the main staircase when I realized that I could have walked out of the lesson with him, but it was too late for that now.

I hurried to Leah and Max who were waiting for me outside the coffee-room. I didn't realize I was late out of Graphics.

"Girlie, where have you been?" Max asked me, moving his hands to his hips in annoyance.
"Sorry for keeping you guys waiting, but I was just talking to someone, and didn't realize I was late." I answered grinning at Max's posture.

Leah nodded and led the way into the coffee-room.

So diary, as you can see, I've had quite a day! Since I left Graphics I just couldn't stop thinking about Theo. I can't get over the contrast. He was so blank and placid yesterday and today he was completely friendly. And what's more? He didn't seem to judge me. He didn't assume I was as boring as I look.

I know it sounds as if I like him, but honestly I'd rather not go there. I don't even know much about him. I just find him overly attractive, but seriously diary, WHO WOULDN'T! I'm interested in him though, he seems genuine and I need to get to know him better. Luckily I've got a couple more weeks to work with him on that project in Graphics, so maybe I'll get to know him then. That's if he wants to get to know me, which isn't likely.

Anyway diary, it's late and my brains exhausted from thinking about Graphics and Theo all day.

Night.
