Dialysis is primarily performed on patients with renal or kidney failure. Dialysis, like kidneys, help to regulate the fluid balance by adjusting the urine output and removing the excess water and waste. Dialysis is very commonly performed until a patient gets a kidney transplant done. As kidney transplant is not convenient and has some risks associated with it, a lot of patients carry on with dialysis.
