Devilishly Delectable Chapter 12 FINAL CHAPTER!
Chapter 12. (FINALE)

Is it possible to feel so happy that you will explode because that’s how I feel at this particular moment? I was lying in Maddox’s arms watching him sleep peacefully. I rested my forehead on his and lightly brushed his cheek, wanting to know if this is actually real. I felt the warmth of his skin and its softness and I knew that it is, more real than anything. I smiled at that. There was a soft knock at the door and then it opened slightly. Jacobs poked his head in. Luckily I was wearing Maddox’s rolling stones t-shirt that I remember wearing every time I was over his house. It was my favourite.

"Miss Sadie…um…I think you should come out here. There is something I need to show you."
I gave him a confused look then sighed. "Okay. I will be out in a sec." I whispered, not to wake Maddox.
He shut the door and looked at Maddox one more time. I kissed his forehead softly.
"I love you." I whispered, then slowly and carefully moved out of his arms. I pulled my jeans on and changed from his t-shirt to my singlet. I walked out of the room and shut the door quietly.
"What is it Jacobs?" I asked as I walked towards him. He was standing in the kitchen.
"Well I…um…just got…please promise me something first Miss Sadie."
"Okay." I said cautioning.
"Don’t get angry."
"Okay." I said again. Not really meaning it because I wanted to know what it is first.

He handed me a gossip magazine. This particular one I remember from the last time. I froze when I looked at the cover. There were pictures of me…from the not so best time of my life. I should probably explain now before I go any further. When Maddox left me, I well…didn’t know exactly how to cope with my heart ache so I kind of turned towards alcohol and clubbing, with many of guys. I was in a dark place and didn’t know how to cope, although the only person who was actually with me was…Tate. The pictures were of me dancing on top of tables (yes that’s right, long story), kissing various guys ect. Not some of my finest moments. Regardless I flipped through the pages until I found the story.

It seems our princess isn’t so classy after all. Who would have known that this innocent is not so innocent as we thought? Miss Sadie Cleaver seems to be the centre of attention recently but only we find her true crimes. She is guilty of one horrific table dance as well as playing tonsil hockey with the men of this great city. I wonder what our handsome prince would think about his pauper not being so dignified. Well I guess the future will be decided as soon as he reads this. If you would like to keep him dear Sadie, then I suggest you lock him up and through away the key.

I knew just how did this…Tate, except I can’t bring myself to feel anger towards him or even about this. I was oddly calm. I place the article on the counter top and looked at Jacobs.
"Maddox can’t know about this because if he did he would probably go and-"
"No about what?" Maddox asked. I could feel his breath on the back of my neck. I turned quickly to see his eyebrows raised.
"W-what?" I stammered.
"What can’t I know and what am I going to go do?" He had a small smile playing at his lips. I knew that once he say that article he would likely go and kill Tate. I grabbed the article off the bench and put it behind my back.
"Nothing." I said.
"Sadie as subtle as hiding that was I unfortunately still see it." I started to move backwards.
"It’s nothing Maddox. Just a stupid little insignificant story. Nothing more, nothing less."
"Well then let me read it."
"No."
"Well it seems I will have to pry it off you then."
"No Maddox, don’t."
But it was too late he was running towards me. I attempted to fling it to Jacobs who was waiting for the catch but Maddox was too quick for me. He snatched it out of my hands and began to read it. I watched the smile disappear from his face and pure rage replaced it. I guess he read the part where they thank Tate for the story. Damn. He lowered the magazine then dropped it. His fists curled up into balls and he looked like he was clenching them so hard that they might very well explode.

"Maddox." I said with caution clear in my voice.
"I. AM. GOING. TO. KILL. HIM." He said it with much venom that it made me flinch.
"Ah no your not." He started to walk towards the door but I stepped in front of him.
"Sadie, he hurt you and I am going to kill him."
"He didn’t hurt me Maddox. Please just…sit down at least and think it over."
"There is nothing to think over. I am going to kill him, end of story."
"No your not." I said, trying to be intimidating.
"Why aren’t you angry Sadie? He just outed every one of your secrets!"
"I know Maddox I read it. Look there are some things you just don’t understand and Tate is one of them."
"You can’t be serious Sadie. You are taking his side."
"I’m not taking any sides."
"I would have thought that you of all people would want to rip his throat out. After all he did to you."
"I’m going to go and speak to him. I will be home soon."
I turned, grabbed my shoes and walked towards the door.
"Wait Sadie." Maddox said grabbing my arm. "I’m sorry. I just don’t like seeing you hurt." I gave him a small smile.
"I know. I love you." I reached up and kissed him softly. "I’ll be home soon."
I turned and walked out the door.

I waited in the elevator to take me to Tate’s apartment. I keep on going over what I am going to say but nothing comes to mind. Well it looks like I am going to wing it. The doors opened and I slowly walked to the door. I opened it slowly and stepped inside. Tate was sitting on the kitchen counter with a bottle of vodka in his hand. He looked up and when he saw me, shame and guilt flashed across his face.

"It’s a little early in the morning for that isn’t it." I said. He dropped his head. I walked over to him. I stopped in front of him. I took a good look at him for the first time and he looked so…dead. He looked like he hadn’t slept in weeks and he also reeked of alcohol. I put out my hand for him to take it.
"Come on Tate. I won’t bite." He looked at me for the first time and slowly reached out for my hand. I grabbed the bottle of vodka and placed it on the sink then lead him towards the down stairs bathroom. I dropped his hand and turned to turn the taps for the bath on, then added soapy liquid so it would makes bubbles.

"Sadie why are you doing this?" He asked but I didn’t answer. Once the bath was full I turned off the taps. "Sadie?" He whispered.
"I’ll go grab some clothes."
"Sadie?" He whispered again. I walked past him and up the stairs to his room. I grabbed a pair of jeans and a white polo shirt. I walked down the stairs and slowly walked in. He was sitting in the bath, (there were a lot of bubbles to cover…him).
"Why are you doing this Sadie?" I looked at him and sat on the ground next to the bath.
"What you did was low Tate but I also know you and I know that if you weren’t like…this," I said gesturing towards him, "you wouldn’t have done it. I’m not angry Tate because I love you. You are my best friend, my brother and nothing is going to change that. I really should thank you."
"What?" He asked in disbelief.
"You gave me a clean slate. Now I have no secrets and oddly enough I like that."
"Sadie-"
"I’m marrying him Tate." I blurted out.
"What?" He asked a little angry.
"I’m going to marry him and I want you there."
"No. No! I can’t believe you just asked me that."
I stood up and leaned down to kiss his head.
"Tate please just think about it. I love you and I want you there. I want you apart of my life and I always will." I walked towards the door.
"Sadie." He said and I stopped just before I was about to walk out. "I’m sorry."
Somehow those words meant more to me than anything. I smiled a little and walked out.

I got into the taxi. "Where would you like to go miss?" The driver asked.
I was about to tell him that I want to go home but stopped myself.
"Do you know the address of Devilishly Delectable, the magazine?"
"Sure do." He said then began to drive towards the magazine.

I got into the elevator, followed by various other people who were looking at me and whispering. I rolled my eyes. Some people just can’t help but gossip. The doors opened with a ping and I walked out. Normally I would go to my floor but I didn’t come here to work. I got out on the journalism floor and passed various booths before getting to the office I was looking for. I knocked on the door.

"Come in!" Blair French. She is one of the best journalists in the country and by god does she know how to get a story. She kind of reminds me of Paris Gellar of Gilmore Girls except not as aggressive. She is quiet tall and has blonde hair and green eyes. I always thought that Blair would be a model in her other life. She is also one of my very good friends and I should also mention that Blair is one of the most loyal people you will ever meet.

I walked into the office and Blair looked up to see me.
"Hey Sadie. How are you doing?"
"I guess you read the article?"
"Yeah, I’m sorry."
"Yeah um…I was wondering, could you do me a favour?"
"Name it."
"People have only read the bad parts and I was wondering if you could write an article about the whole me, bad and good?"
"Sadie, it would be my honour."
I smiled. Told you she was loyal.
******
We spent about two hours discussing my life from a little before the break up, to the break up, the miscarriage, which shocked Blair, the partying, and lastly Maddox coming back and the engagement. Everything that I had ever felt over the past years, I told Blair. It was sort of like a therapy for me. I just got everything off my chest. Blair was a good sport to she didn’t judge or say anything, she just asked question and wrote stuff down.

"Okay. I think we are done." Blair said.
"Great. Thank you again Blair."
"Anything for a friend Sadie and besides people should know the truth."
I gave her a big huge then walked out of the office.

I opened the door to Maddox’s apartment, or I should say OUR apartment, and walked in.
"Maddox!" I called. He came in through the sliding door and walked over towards me.
"Are you okay? You have been a while." He put his arms around my waist.
"I’m fine, I just had to take care of some stuff."
"Well I guess it’s a good thing you have been gone so long otherwise I wouldn’t have found this in time." He pulled out a box from his pocket.
I felt a huge smile spread across my face. I grabbed it and opened it slowly. There was a big diamond ring inside but what made tears fall from my eyes was the significance of it.
"It’s your mothers ring."
"Yeah. I remember when my dad gave me it. He said give it to someone who you will love forever and not want to let go of like how he felt with mom and well I am more than happy to say that I have."
I kissed him with everything that I had. I heard him chuckle. I pulled away and took the ring out of the box and Maddox grabbed it and placed it on my finger. At that moment I never felt more whole in my entire life.

(((FIVE WEEKS LATER)))

"Sadie." I heard Corrine whisper.
"Sadie, its time to get up." Reggie whispered.
"Why?" I said with a big smile on my face.
"Because your getting married today!" He screamed and started jumping on my bed. I started to jump with him then Corrine joined us. We all feel back on the bed.

I couldn’t believe I was getting married today to the man of my dreams! We were having the wedding at La Belle Chambre, where I am currently, staying in one of the massive rooms. It was a beautiful day today, which just made it so much better! I was sleeping in one of the rooms on one side of the palace and Maddox was staying at the opposite side. Due to the short notice we decided that there would only be fifty of our closets friends and family. I invited only my closets friends from the magazine including Blair, who I might add ran the article and it was beyond what I thought it would be. I now have no one saying anything about me and all I could think when reading it was; damn she is good! I also invited Davey, Fin, Cubes, Scooter and Snitch who I frequently visit. They are amazing guys. Maddox invited all his friends, including his childhood friends who I had the pleasure of meeting years ago and they took a very strong liking to me. I was basically their little sister.

I walked over to the large glass doors and opened them, I walked out on the balcony. The sun was shining so brightly and I could hear the birds singing happily. I knew exactly how they feel. I decided to get married here because I remember when Maddox’s dad and I went for a stroll in the garden at night and I remembered it being so beautiful. So at the stroke of seven I will be walking down the isle to meet my betrothed. I looked down at the garden to see the workers setting everything up. I smiled and walked back inside.
There was a massive table filled with endless food in the middle of the room.

"I don’t remember that being there when I woke up." I said.
"They just set it up."
"Wow they work quickly."
"Your telling me." Corrine said. There was a knock at the door.
"Come in…if your not the groom." I said.
"No groom, just me." Ingrid said as she walked into the room.

We all began to eat the food that was on the table. Then suddenly I realised something that I was missing. I dropped my food.
"OH MY GOD!" I practically screamed.
"Sadie what’s wrong?" Reggie asked running to me, the others following suit.
"Your aren’t having regrets are you?" Corrine asked.
"What? No, no."
"Then what is it Sadie?" Ingrid asked.
"I don’t have anybody to give me away." I said. I never even thought of it until now.
"It’s not that important Sadie. I mean heaps of women walk down the isle on their own, independent as I like to call it."
I started to breathe. Everything has to be perfect and I knew exactly how it could be.
"I will be back soon."
"Where are you going?" Reggie asked as I walked towards the door.
"I’ll be back." I said then walked out the door.

After twisting and turning through endless amounts of hallways I finally made it to Maddox’s room. I knocked on the door.
"Coming!" Maddox said.
"No, no, no, no, no!" I yelled quickly.
"Sadie is that you?" He yelled through the door.
"Yes…um, cover your eyes."
"What?"
"Just do it." I waited, "are they covered yet?" I yelled.
"Yes!"
"Alright I’m coming in." You know how they say it’s bad luck to see the bride before the wedding well I am very much a suspicious person.
I slowly opened the door, and saw him standing there with his hand over his eyes and shirtless. I don’t think I can get over the utter perfection, which is his body.
"Sadie what are you doing here? Your not having doubts are you?" His voice sounded worried and scared. I smiled and kissed him. I could feel him start to move his hand but I quickly put my hand over his.
"If I was having doubts would I tell you to cover your eyes?"
"Probably not. What are you doing here then?"
"Well I just couldn’t keep away." I said seductively.
"Really?"
"No." His smile fell and I giggled. "I was wondering if you seen Jacobs anywhere?"
"Why?"
"Well that’s for me to know and for you to find out." He didn’t have to move his hand for me to know he was rolling his eyes.
"He is probably downstairs making sure everything is set up."
"Thanks." I kissed him softly then leaned in near his ear. "You know its kind of hot, you blinded folded. Oh I think I have a good idea for the honeymoon." I felt him shiver in delight. I giggled and kissed him softly once more then walked out of the room.

Once again I weaved through hallways and down stairs until I came to the foyer. I walked into the room where the party from the other night was held, where they were setting up for the reception. I walked out to the back yard where Jacobs was standing, overlooking the workers. I walked up to him.

"Good morning." I said cheerfully.
"Good morning Miss Sadie. How are you feeling today?"
"Is that a trick question?" I said smiling.
"Do you know how long I have waited for this day Miss Sadie?"
"Too long." I said. He chuckled.
"Actually Jacobs I have a confession. The actual reason I came to see you is because I have favour to ask."
"Anything for you Miss Sadie."
"I want you to give me away." He turned to me with shock on his face.
"What?" He asked.
"I don’t have anyone to give me away and you’re the closest thing to a father I have. Would you?" I saw a smile light up his face and tears started to fall from his eyes.
"It would be my honour." He barely said because he was crying. I felt tears fall from my eyes to. I gave him a big hug. After a while I pulled back.
I began to laugh. "Look at me, I’m not supposed to cry yet."
"Me neither." Jacobs said. "Well you should go and get something to eat Miss Sadie."
"Jacobs since its my wedding day can you do something else for me? Just call me Sadie." He smiled and nodded.
"I will see you soon." I said and kissed his cheek. I turned and made my way inside. I looked at the clock on my way up and it said it was 12.30. Just three and half more hours and I will be getting ready. This is officially the best day in my whole entire life.

It was three o’clock and the three hair dressers and three make-up artists were here. They were all quite nice and they were really good at what they did.
The hair dresser started first. She first curled my hair, then put it up in a half up and half down. She pinned the curls up with blue jewels, then she put the vale on the top of my head, which was connected to a thin, white, weaved type head band. The vale covered just the front of my face. It took about two hours to finish. The make-up artist was next. She started with foundation, then added a blush, she then curled my lashes a few times before adding mascara and eyeliner. She did a subtle eye shadow, which I liked and bright red lipstick, with a glossy covering that stops it from smudging and makes it look shiny. It was amazing because I didn’t have to even tell them what to do. They just took one look at my dress and that was it.

Which brings me to the most important and my most favorite time of the day, well second favorite. I got up and walked over to my dress. It was hanging in a big black bag near the walk in wardrobe. I undid the zipper and pulled the dress out. Reggie, Corrine, Ingrid and I spent the past five weeks making this dress, my dream dress. It was a strapless, pure white dress, with a corset bodice. It bunched up at the top and the bottom and had a red bow tying at the back of the dress. I had white heels that were smaller going with them. I went into the bathroom and changed into it. I stood there looking at the beauty of it and couldn’t help thinking how lucky I am. I walked out of the bathroom and all of them gasped.

"Oh Sadie, you look beautiful." They all said.
"Thank you. If it wasn’t for any of you I wouldn’t be looking like this." They all smiled and I saw Ingrid start to cry.
"Oh Ingrid." I said as I walked over to her.
"I’m okay, I’m okay, it’s just…you look so beautiful."
I gave her a big hug, carefully though, not to ruin her make-up and hair. Corrine and Ingrid had their hair and make-up done while I was getting mine done. They are of course my bridesmaids and Reggie was my "made" of honor. Although he didn’t really need the make-up and hair stylist much to his displeasure.

Corrine and Ingrid were wearing the dresses that we made whilst making my wedding dress. It was a cream colored corset with pink and white flowers sewed onto it and then flowed down to there knees with layers of cream colored chiffon. Their hair was braid in a diagonal way so it came down the right side of their heads. Their make-up was just simple and they were wearing cream pink high heels.

It was dark outside now and I could hear people arriving. I looked at the clock and it said it was 6.45. Oh my god fifteen minutes until I get married. I was starting to get a little nervous now. There was a knock at the door and then Jacobs walked in. He was wearing a black and white suit with a red tie. He looked very dashing. He walked in then gasped. He walked over and hugged me.
"Oh Sadie you look…amazing." I saw one tear fall.
"Now you don’t start crying because then I will." I said laughing a little.
"Its time. Are you ready?" Jacobs asked.
"I’ve been ready for a long time." I said.
"Well then lets get this show on the road." Reggie said.

We all walked out of the bedroom and down the hall and stairs. We walked to the back door, which had two white drapes covering the entrance. Hiding Maddox from me. We were just about to start when someone suddenly slipped through the drapes. It was discreet though, so I didn’t see anything. I saw it was Tate though. He walked over to me.

"You came." I said trying to bite back my tears. He hugged me tight for a minute then pulled back.
"I wouldn’t miss this for the world. You look so beautiful."
"Thank you." I said as I brushed my hand to his cheek.
"I just wanted to say good luck and…I love you too. You will be apart of my life forever as well and I couldn’t think of anything better than that." He lifted the vale and kissed my cheek. "I’ll see you out there."
"I’ll be the one in white." He chuckled.
"Good luck." He whispered then walked back out. A few minutes later the music started and Corrine walked out first. Reggie turned back to me.
"Good luck babe." He said then took Ingrid’s arm and wound it through his. Then they walked out.
"How are you feeling?" Jacobs asked.
"I’ll let you know." I whispered back taking his arm in mine and held onto my bouquet of white roses tightly.

Then it was my time. Two men pulled the drapes open and realized the wedding. There were candles everywhere and lanterns were also lit up. There were rose petals lining the way with candles also outlining the path. There was an arch covered in roses with a orchestra playing on either side. The minister was under the arch and the conductor behind him. The people were standing up and they all looked beautiful but that wasn’t what caught my eye. As soon as those drapes were pulled apart I was looking for him. My Maddox. He was wearing a black and white suit with a black bow tie, his hair slicked back and he looked more beautiful that I have ever thought he could. Walking down the stairs I could barely control myself. I wanted to run to him. When we started to walk down the isle I could see his face more clearly. His eyes were burning with love and his face had a giant, dazzling smile. I saw tears fall from his eyes and my eyes started to shed tears as well. We stopped and I was so close to him. I turned to Jacobs who smiled and lifted the vale from my face and kissed my cheek.

"Go get him tiger." He whispered. I smiled and he brushed away some of my tears. I turned back to Maddox who was waiting with his hand outstretched. I grabbed it instantly and we walked to the arch. Where the minister commenced the ceremony.

"Do you Maddox Hunter take Sadie Cleaver as your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold through sickness and in health, for as long as you both shall live?" The minister asked.
"Yes, I do. More than anything." He said. I laughed a little and brushed the tears away that was clouding my vision. I wanted to see this moment, remember it.
"Do you Sadie Cleaver take Maddox Hunter as your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold through sickness and health, for as long as you both shall live?"
"I do." I said instantly. Maddox chuckled. I looked at the minister
"With the power invested in me I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." I looked back at Maddox and instantly his lips were on mine. I giggled and kissed him back with everything I had. We heard an eruption go through the crowd. I pulled back and looked into his eyes. They were filled with so much love.
"You mine now, forever." He whispered.
"About time." I said and we both began to laugh. We pulled back and started to walk down the isle where people were hugging us from every where. I saw Tate standing there and I gave him a big smile. I pulled him in for a big hug. I pulled back and saw him smiling, but I still saw some hurt in his eyes.
"Well Mrs Hunter, how do you feel?"
"Words can’t even describe." I said and a few more tears fell from my eyes. "I’m so glad you came. It means more to me than you will ever know."
"Save me a dance."
"Will do." I kissed his cheek and turned to grab Maddox’s hand as we led the party up to the reception. We walked in and once again there were candles everywhere and white and red roses. The band began to play and we walked over to the main table, which was just in front of the band, near the dance floor.
Maddox and I sat down in the middle of the table with Reggie, Corrine and Ingrid following along with Maddox’s best men and Mr Hunter. Once everyone sat down, everyone made toasts. Reggie successfully embarrassed me but I couldn’t help but laugh at his speech. Mr Hunter, or I should probably say dad, was the best man and made quite a funny speech as well and I found out a few embarrassing stories about Maddox that I didn’t know. Then suddenly Maddox got up and took the microphone off his dad.

"I’m not really one to show my vulnerable side but I guess that barrier is broken since I basically cried in front of you all," there was a small laughter filling the room, "but if you had this beautiful women walking down an isle in a amazing white dress knowing she wants to spend the rest of her life with you well I think some of you would shed a few tears as well. I can’t even begin to describe what I am feeling right now but all I know is that I love this girl more than anything in this world and getting to spend the rest of my life with her seems more like a dream than reality. Sadie I know that we didn’t really get a chance to pick our wedding song so I took the liberty of choosing for us. Would you do me the honour of having this dance?" The music began to play Such Great Heights by Iron and Wine. I could feel tears falling from my eyes. He remembered. I always said that wanted this to be my wedding song but it slipped my mind when we were actually preparing.
"It would be my pleasure." I said smiling. He grabbed my hand and led me towards the dance floor. He spun me around once and then pulled me into him. I giggled and looked up at him. He rested his forehead on mine.

"I have a confession." I whispered.
"What’s that?" He whispered back.
"You know how I disappeared for the day about three weeks back?"
"Yeah?" He said cautiously.
"Well good news…I’m eating for two." We stopped dancing and he pulled back from me.
"What?" He said.
"Congratulations! Your going to be a dad!" I said. A huge grin crossed his face and he picked me up and started to spin me around. I was laughing so hard.
"I’M GOING TO BE A DAD!" He yelled. The whole room erupted in cheers and he put me down. Then kissed me passionately. He pulled back a little to rest his forehead on mine.
"I love you so much Sadie."
"I love you to Maddox." I kissed his softly and once again we swayed to the music. A smile clear on our faces.

We danced and mingled the rest of the night. Maddox only let me go once and that was when I danced with Tate, who I might add was spending the whole night with Corrine. Reggie was very much flirting with a fellow college Brian who has had a crush on Reggie for a while from what I’ve heard. It was time to get ready to go to the honeymoon though. Ingrid, Corrine and Reggie pulled me up the stairs to my room where my after dress was waiting. It was a cream pink, strapless dress with corset type material covering the breast part then flowed into a pink chiffon layers all the way to the ground. I took out the vale and placed it with the dress that Reggie was going to take care of.

I walked down the stairs to see Maddox waiting for me. I had the bouquet in my hand and saw all the women push Maddox out of the way as I was about to through it. I laughed and turned around. Ingrid, Corrine and Reggie were also in the crowd.
"Ready, 3,2,1!" I counted down then through it behind me. I turned around and saw that Reggie had it. I smiled and laughed as I saw him blush a little. I walked down the stairs to Maddox who fought his way to the front of the line. I grabbed his hand and we said our goodbyes as we walked to the car.

"I have a question." I said.
"Shoot." He said.
"You have kept the honeymoon a secret so my question is…where are we going?"
He chuckled. "Wouldn’t you like to know."
