Detoxification is the process of removing the toxins in the body and Detox diet is the diet that includes foods that help in detoxification of the body. Let us take a look at the detox diet menu.
7 Day Detox Diet Menu
Here is a sample 7 day detox diet menu that is used for detoxification. This menu can be repeated if you want to go for a 21 day detox diet menu. Also, if you want to take up the diet for 3 days, you can choose any of the following choices. When you wake up in the morning take 1 glass of lukewarm water along with half a lemon squeezed in it.
Breakfast
There are six detox diet menus for breakfast. Although, a combination of any cereal can be taken as breakfast. Some of the combinations are as follows;
- Millet porridge served with powdered milk and dried fruits as toppings
- Oats porridge with powdered milk and honey and nuts
- Compote of mixed dry fruits that are soaked in orange juice and usually served with yogurt
- Fruit salad of papaya, mango and melon that is topped with sesame seeds
- Boiled eggs and steamed spinach on white wheat toast
- Non-wheat bread that is toasted and served with honey
Salad forms the complete lunch in the 7 day detox diet. Let us take a look at it.
- Goat's cheese salad with walnuts
- Mediterranean vegetable omelet with red onion, courgette, cherry tomatoes and peppers
- Vegetable stew heaped on a toasted wheat free bread
- Steamed vegetables with non-wheat pasta along with tomato sauce
- One baked potato stuffed with feta cheese, tomato, cucumber, onion and black olives
- Raw vegetables with Mexican dips
Here is the dinner menu for detox diet.
- Seasonal vegetables and organic oily fish with a squeeze of lemon
- Stir-fried broccoli with nuts
- baked salmon with vegetables
- Pasta with olives and artichokes
- potato mash served with roast vegetables and fish
- Quinoa with wild rice pilaf
- Tomato casserole and spicy cannellini
- Vegetable fried rice with nori
- Lentils with cauliflower
- Marinated vegetable kebabs
- Roasted vegetables like beetroot, tomatoes, courgette, red onion and pumpkin seeds with feta cheese
Along with this diet, you must drink plenty of water throughout the day. Do exercise for about 20-30 minutes every day. A detox diet menu can help with weight loss and prevents a number of health problems like blood pressure, heart diseases, digestive tract problems, kidney problems and liver problems. Thus a healthy detox diet menu has a lot of health benefits.
