Descent into Grace
I wrote this this weekend, and I hope you enjoy it!
A mythical magical
Place full of wonder,
Pulling you faster,
Softer, under.
Things not achieved
Through mortal ways
Are leaving you wasted,
Worn and dazed.
Taunting your wishes
By grabbing your dreams,
Making a promise
On soap bubble wings.
Drifting you further
The more that you know,
Ashes, ashes
Is how the song goes.
Cirling 'round you
With false happy gleams
In jealous green eyes
That hatred brings.
Forcing you back
To the one in your place
That plastered a smile
On your struggling face.
Singing and dancing
To cover your fears
And fill all the holes
Where you bury your tears.
Spiraling, spiraling,
Pulling you down,
As silent as flowers
They gather around.
Waiting to see it,
The look in your eyes
As you manage to say
Your final goodbyes.
Place full of wonder,
Pulling you faster,
Softer, under.
Things not achieved
Through mortal ways
Are leaving you wasted,
Worn and dazed.
Taunting your wishes
By grabbing your dreams,
Making a promise
