Pedersen Saves Best For Last
Grand Prix: Denmark's Nicki Pedersen won his second Grand Prix title of season in the years final meeting at Bydgoszcz on saturday.
Nicki Pedersen secured his second Grand Prix title of the season after a pulsating meeting in Bydgoszcz. Pedersen was only beaten once in seven heats taking the final from the inside gate ahead of Greg Hancock and Tomasz Gollob the home favourite. Britains Scott Nicholls failed to qualify for the semi finals and will now have a nervous wait to see if he is given a wild card into next seasons competition.
World Champion Jason Crump managed to sneak into the last eight despite only earning seven points in qualification. His poor start in the second semi final won by Wieslaw Jargus cost him any chance of going further. Jargus who has already won a place for next year through the qualifying competition was the surprise of the night producing a number of breath taking moves that had the home crowd on their feet. Tomasz Gollob who had won the last four Polish Grand Prix’s was equally as spectacular his final placing earning him a berth in the top eight of the championship. Countryman Jaroslaw Hampel will make a third Pole in the 2007 series despite failing to make the semi finals.
Swindon’s Lee Richardson has almost certainly had his last Grand prix ride after another disastrous evening that saw him finish with just 2 points.
