Demon Within -Chapter 1-

Landa died, now my soul is hurt. But is she really gone, for the better good?
I hummed a tune from an old song my grandmother had once taught sung to me. Thinking back made me feel light headed as tears welled up my eyes, making the green orbs blurry. My friend, Landa patted my back and sighed.

"You should sleep." She answered my sobs softly. I laid my head back on the pillow as dreams filled my mind.

In my dream, my sister Rachael who was with us, traveling to Florida by car, mumbled something about the fire blast. Landa and I sung a song from the radio, laughing together. Then, we crashed. A loud boom and the car was on fire. We were all screaming.

When I awoke I screamed.

"I want off!" I yelled. Finally agreeing, my grandpa dropped me and my sister at a stop, already calling my mom to come pick us up. Landa insisted on staying, and even my grandpa agreed. 'this is horrible' I thought, watching the car drive off. Not even 6 seconds later, it crashed. bursting into flames. I dropped onto my knees crying.

The burial was on the same day as a cold windy Halloween. I walked home, trying to clear my mind. I didn't want to trick-or-treat, but I dressed in a black dress with cat ears and a tail and curled my blond hair. My eyes were heavy, my ears sore. But I still heard the bushes move. I turned back.

"Hello?" It was Rachael. But her eyes, so dark, like Landa's.

"You didn't warn me." Her pale lips moved slowly. I shook, running home. Entering, I went to my room. Laying down on my bed, I wept. I jerked up as the window opened, and closed it. Then I felt a chill.

"I'll get you." A voice crept behind me. I tried to yell, but couldn't. Running out the door, I slept in my mom’s room.

The next day I read a book about how to get rid of spirits. It all seemed so phony! Except one about the witch in the forest. There was an old house, but no one ever went there.

I decided, for my life and my friend’s peace, I'd go. Packing up, I told her mom I was going hiking with my friend Cassie.
The path was dark, frightening, but I made it though.

I knocked on the door, however, no one answered. I opened the door.

"Um, Is the Makidai witch here?" I yelled. A creeping on the stairs told me someone was there.....
