Delusional Love: Chapter 42
Total Eclipse of the Heart.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Was my instant reaction when I saw Adam emerging out of nowhere growling at me. It appeared like he was not in the mood to answer my question as he bombarded me with his own.
"It's been going on for a while now, isn't it? You and Jeremy? Did you hear what he said? "I'll see you back home soon," home! Home! He left for US a day before you're leaving so that you too can fan the flame of romance there?"
"Stop it!" I yelled. "God you're so disgusting. What do you think of me? Huh? Listen very clearly Mr. Adam I am not like you. I don't jump from one relationship to another. I don't play with people's emotions. I came here to bid Jeremy goodbye. I had no freaking idea that he would kiss me."
"Stop lying to me. I know what's going on between you and him. He is perfect for you, isn't he? And now that you've decided to leave me then he's the only person on whose shoulder you can cry on and can't you see? He's taking advantage of that."
"Not every person is as cunning and shrewd as you are," I snapped back, "Jeremy is the only person who has supported me and consoled me throughout everything that you've put me to."
"He's always had feelings about you, right? And now that you gave him the good news of my exit from your life he jumped on the opportunity... Perfect!"
"He's not an opportunist... unlike you."
"Yes, you're absolutely right Hannah. He's not cunning like me, he's not shrewd like me and he's even not an opportunist like me. Everything that's bad has to be ME and only me! I am a bad curse that has been inflicted upon you," he said with mixture of enthusiasm and anger.
"Stop making a scene here. I care about my reputation..."
"And I clearly don't have a reputation."
"Listen Adam. I am leaving tomorrow and it would be better for both of us to behave civilly with each other. I wish you all the luck and success in life. Take care of yourself and stay happy with Bianca."
"I don't want Bianca, I want you Hannah," he whimpered, "I love you Hannah, why don't you trust me?"
"Goodbye Adam," I said walking away as I couldn't afford to make a scene in front of everyone. He grabbed my hand and pulled me towards him, "You aren't going anywhere. I am not letting you. You have to trust me; please don't ignore my pleas Hannah. Bianca is trying to break us up, don't fall into her trap."
"Adam leave me," I said trying to free myself from his hold. "I hate you. I will never come back to you."
"I know you're lying. You don't hate me you love and you've always loved me. Please Hannah just listen to me for once. I didn't do anything that night."
This blew me away. He was lying again about sleeping with Bianca. I would have forgiven him if he had confessed the truth but instead he kept on lying to me. This annoyed me to such an extent that I lied to him in order to cut all ties with him forever, "I love Jeremy!"
He instantly let go of me and looked at me with utter astonishment and disbelief. His eye shed a tear and it was visible from his face that his heart has broken into hundred pieces. He walked away from me and buried his face in his hands. I didn't move. There was a silence for few moments like everything gets numb before storm.
"I know you're lying," he said with a fake laughter as he turned towards me.
"I am not," I retaliated with firm confidence.
"You don't love him Hannah. You can't love him. Do you understand me?" He said yelling, "You love me and no one else. I know you're lying to me. I know you're lying to get away from me."
"I am not lying to you Adam. I love Jeremy. He's the right person for me and I wonder why I never realized this before. We have so much in common and I truly love..."
"Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!" He said screaming at me, "You fucking bitch. You are blaming me for cheating on you and what have you done? Every woman is same; they care about no one's feelings." He pushed me against the car and growled, "You think you can get away so easily? Huh? I loved you Hannah. I loved you and no one else and you broke my trust too," he wept and scrunched his eyebrows in anger, "You left me too like everyone did. I thought you'd never leave me, you were my life Hannah, I never felt like this about anyone else. Once again I have no one to call my own.
You've stole everything away from me, my trust, my life and most importantly... my love. I am nothing but an empty shell with no life and soul without you. But I promise you Hannah, I'll make you suffer like you did to me. I'll rob you of all the happiness. You'll curse the day you met me. I'll make your life hell!" And he walked away.

In the morning when I was packing my bags to leave to the airport, my phone buzzed and the caller gave me the news which shattered my whole life forever. "Your aunt, Ms. Bennet has met with a terrible accident."
