Delusional Love: Chapter 39

"Do you really think I could cheat on you?"
"Is she getting better doctor?" I asked aunt’s physician.

He smiled and answered, "Her progress is commendable. Chemotherapy is working in her favor though you’re well aware that it is a tough road. However I am certain that her cancer will be cured."

I was so delighted to hear this. Finally, my aunt was getting better. Amidst all these negativity, I finally saw a ray of light. I smiled contently and said, "I so happy to hear that. Thanks a lot doctor. My aunt is like a second mother to me. I am so happy that she’s recovering so fast," happy tears filled my eyes.

"Ms. Bennet is a strong woman. I am sure she can overcome any obstacle. There’s nothing to worry at all. Your aunt will only get better."

I thanked the doctor and went out of his office with a content heart. While we were driving home back from hospital aunt finally divulged on that topic, "Are you okay honey? Do you want to talk about it?"

"I am okay and I don’t want to talk about it."

"You have decided not to utter a word about it but I won’t take no for an answer. I can see the pain behind your happy countenance Hannah," she asserted bluntly.

"I am genuinely happy aunt. You’re getting better, I am going back home… isn’t that great?"I asked with fake excitement.

Aunt looked at me and didn’t utter a single word although her eyes were accusing me for not letting the pain inside me flow out.

We pulled over as we reached home. "I’ve to go somewhere. I’ll see you later," I said getting out of the car. Aunt nodded and went inside the house. I took a deep breath and got into the car and drove off.

I finally reached my destination. After staring at it for few minutes I got out of the car. As I was walking towards Adam’s house there was only one thing I was dreading of, I wished Adam would not see me here…I wished he would not show me his face ever again. I reached his door and left all the precious things that he ever game me on his doorsteps, along with those beautiful memories that were now useless for me. A tear escaped my eye as I turned back.

I was sitting at the lake when I felt someone’s hand on my shoulder. I turned around to see who it was and much to my dismay it was Adam.

"I’ve been searching for you all over," he said panting, "I went to your house but your aunt didn’t let me in and I couldn’t see you anywhere, so I figured you were not there. Then I went to Sarah’s house but you were nowhere to be found."

"What do you want?" I asked getting up.

"I want to talk to you. Do you really think I could cheat on you?" He asked with watery eyes.

"Yes I do," I said walking away.

"Hannah stop," he yelled keeping up with me.

"Back off!" I yelled from top of my voice. "You’re so shameless Adam. I pity you. If you wanted your girlfriend back then you should have been man enough to confront her instead of using me like this. You proposed to me in front of everyone and then suddenly when the party ended, you realized that I deserve someone better? How lame is that? After fucking that bitch you had the guts to come to my house and tell me that you didn’t do it? You think I am that stupid? How could you?"

"Hannah, believe me. I didn’t do anything. I only love you and no one else. I swear I didn’t even touch her."

"Shut up! God! you’re still denying it? If you would have admitted fucking her, I would still have thought that you have some dignity left in you but no, you’re a shameless person. No wonder you killed your father," saying that last line turned out to be my biggest mistake.

He looked at me with disbelief and anger. His eyes were bloody red and it seemed like they were dripping blood instead of tears. My body trembled for a moment seeing him in that state.

"What did you say?" He asked moving closer.

I gulped and turned back with fear as he came towards me. Somehow I gathered my strength and managed to speak, "Yeah! No wonder you killed you own father. I am sure it was not a mistake as you described it to me. You lied to me like you always do. You killed him intentionally. A guy who can kill his own father can never love anyone else. Your father would have killed himself if he were alive and saw you playing with people’s feelings like this."

There was a silence for few moments as he kept staring at me with those bloody eyes. He took a deep breath and turned around. He was searching for something. Then he knelt down and picked up a huge rock. I covered my face with my hands as I knew what he was about to do. He got up with the rock in his hand and came towards me swiftly. I stood there motionless waiting for him to smash the rock on my face. It was as if sub consciously, I knew that I committed a crime talking about his father like this and was ready to take any punishment for it. He was now close enough to hit me with it. He raised his hand that was carrying the rock and forcefully smashed it on his face. I stood there bewildered. He continued hitting himself with that rock till his whole face was smeared with blood. He then threw the rock on the ground pushed me towards him, "guess what I did fuck Bianca," he said with a sly grin on his face and left.

Me - Thank your for your comment. Let's see if Hannah gives Adam a second chance.

Noor - In this chapter I've tried to present Adam's point of view. However, the question of the authenticity of his words will be answered in the last chapter. Well I named my heroine Hannah because it is similar to my name and when I first started writing this story, this name came abruptly to my mind. Anyway, I hope it's a good name.
