Delusional Love: Chapter - 33

Sarah and Ryan entered the house looking inquisitively at me and Adam. "Wow! Is this what I think it is?" asked Sarah raising her eyebrow. I diverted my gaze towards Adam who seemed to have fallen short for words. Thankfully the door bell rang again and this time Jeremy arrived.

"Hey Jer I am glad that you could make it," I said embracing him. As I pulled apart I saw Bianca enter through the door with two men. The one whose arm she was holding had long black straight hair and a slender frame. The other guy had icy blond hair and he seemed like a big pole because of his great height. Bianca trod towards Adam, ignoring me and kissed his cheek saying, "Hello Sexy! You're looking gorgeous in black." Adam gave a faint smile in reply. "He's my boyfriend, Doug," she introduced the guy with long black hair, "and he's Raymond my other very good friend," she grinned looking at the other guy who came with her. Adam shook hands with them and requested them to make themselves comfortable.

"Bitch with her pets," remarked Adam coming towards me.

"Are they bothering you?" I asked sarcastically, "it must hurt seeing your ex fiancé with some other guy, or guys to be precise." "

"You think I still care about her? I broke all the ties with her, emotional and sexual the day she left me when I needed her the most."

"Is anyone else coming?" I asked.

"Why are you changing the topic?" he retorted.

"Excuse me? I am not changing the topic. Do you want me to talk about Bianca and spoil the mood of this party? Isn't it enough that you actually invited her to show off that you've moved on in life?"

Hearing this, his face suddenly turned pale, "you think I got with you to make Bianca feel jealous? I can't believe this," he gnashed his teeth in anger, "Listen I left her years ago and since then I've been with a hell lot of women so I think she's been jealous enough."

"But you were not in a serious relationship with any of them."

"Hannah, the only reason of inviting everyone here is to make them know that we're now together. They are our friends, they deserve to know."

"I don't have the strength to argue with you anymore, so please..." I said walking away.

As I was talking to Sarah I saw some new faces in the house. Adam introduced me to them, they were his college friends. I was talking to Ryan when Bianca approached me, "Hey can we talk?" I excused myself and walked with her.

"Is everything all right?"

"Umm yeah. I love your dress." I knew she wouldn't drag me here to praise my dress.

"Thanks." I replied.

"You know green is my favorite color. Adam used to get me everything green. Green top, dress, bracelets and even lingerie. Huh it was so amazing," she sighed.

"Adam gave me this dress," I confessed.

"Really? Looks like I was in his mind when he got you this dress." I got really furious when I heard this. I can't believe Adam would do that to me, even unintentionally. It was an incommodious moment but I didn't get sweep away.

At the precise moment I heard Adam announcing, "Hey guys I want to thank you all for taking time out and be here at such short notice. There are two reasons I called you all here, one which you're already aware of and the other is a really special one..."

"You know why he called you here?" I asked Bianca.

"I know the first reason but I am unaware of the "special" one."

"What's the first reason?" I asked curiously.

"Today is Adam's birthday," as she revealed it I got goose bumps all over my body, "it's weird you know, Adam asked us to not wish him or even talk about his birthday until he makes some sort of announcement." Recovering from the shock I diverted my attention to Adam.

"The other reason of calling everyone is to let you guys know that I've found my soulmate. I know you people must be thinking that I don't seem to be the man who could stick to one mate but trust me I've changed and the girl who brought me to right track is," he gestured towards me, "Hannah." There was a pin drop silence in the room. Everyone was startled and didn't quite know how to react considering Adam's previous attitude towards relationships. Bianca looked dumbstruck and Sarah was just smiling and her eyes were popping out with shock.

Adam came towards me and glanced into my eyes. I was numb I didn't know what to say. He sat down on his knees and took out the ring from his pocket, "Please just say yes," he whispered and tears ran down from his eyes.

I was numb; my senses seemed to have frozen. I was seeing Adam on his knees proposing to me with a ring in his hand but I couldn't respond in any way. Neither could I speak nor could I move. I don't remember from where Sarah came and patted me on the back, pulling me back to the reality. I looked at Adam. He whispered, "I am about to fracture my knee."

"What's happening?" I whimpered.

"I love you Hannah and I can't picture my life without you. I promise I won't let you down, ever. Please marry me and make me a happy man."

I jerked my head in agreement, "Yes," and tears rolled down my eyes.

"Really?" he said getting up.

"Yes, I want to marry you" as I said this Adam embraced me with all his love. Never in my life had I felt such delightment. My whole body was infused with excitement and each drop of blood flowing in my veins was filled with love. I had finally found love; God had finally showered his blessings upon me. I vowed to love and cherish Adam all throughout my life.

As I was engrossed in my thoughts I heard people clapping and hooting. I suddenly felt conscious and pulled myself apart from Adam who instantly held me tightly and kissed me. Now I didn't care about anyone present in the room or about the world. I had found my soulmate.

"That's it! I don't think I can say anything further," said Hannah getting up.

"Hannah, please," said Rhea grabbing her arm forcing her to complete her story.

"I can't Rhea. I just can't. That was the fucking best moment of my life and now that I've realized that it was nothing but just a deception, I can't...," she continued weeping, "I don't think I have the strength to continue the story.

"Aren't you ready to close that chapter of your life?" asked Rhea, "his very thought still excites every nerve in your body. You still have not forgotten him. Don't you want to end this misery forever? Don't you want to move on in life? The only way you could do that is to finally let him go. Pour out everything that you have in your heart and it might heal your wounds.

"I doubt that. I don't think I'd be able to forget him, ever. I breathe him every day. He flows in me through the blood of my body. His fragrance lingers on me. His taste still bide on my lips. I sleep with him every night and wake up with him every morning. He's with me in my happiness and he consoles me in my despair. The only way to get rid of him is when God will show mercy on me and call me to himself." As she said this she broke down and sobbed miserably.

Rhea was shocked to see the intensity of love that persisted in the heart of Hannah. She wanted to console her but she knew it was of no use. Adam was the love of her life and she was curious to know as to what brought Hannah to this condition.

"Say it! Hannah you have to take it out. You have to continue the story for me, please."

"I am afraid you have to consider it The End..."
