Decorating Your Ideal Home Bar Design
Having a home bar is a dream of almost every guy and I will argue most girls too. Learn what you need to do to create that ultimate home bar.
Consider yourself lucky if you’ve got your own home bar – it’s a perfect social gathering spot that’s ideal for entertaining! However, if it’s lacking in décor and needs to be updated, it isn’t considered very inviting.
A way to give your home bar some style is by picking out fashionable bar stools. Depending on what decorating style you want to portray in your bar, there’s a bar stool that will accommodate it. For example, contemporary bar stools feature lots of curvature and little detailing – perfect if you want a sleek, current-looking bar. If you’ve got a more traditional style, bar stools made with wrought iron or distressed wood will make your bar look like a classic British pub.
Once you’ve determined what style you’re after in your home bar design, try adding details to it. Install a sink on or behind the counter so you can clean up right at the bar. Offer different kinds of mugs and glasses so guests don’t confuse their drink with someone else’s. Add a mini-fridge under the counter so you can keep beer, wine, and cocktail juice fresh and cold – plus, you won’t have to keep going back to your main fridge in the kitchen. You can even add an ice-maker for your guests drinking hi-balls.
Now, it’s time to decorate! If your home bar feels a little cramped, surround the area with mirrors – it’ll open up the space and spread around more light. In general, bars are kept darker than other rooms, so if you want to follow that rule, keep the florescent lights to a minimum. Tea lights in glass holders give off a classy and moody look for any bar. A lot of bars hang up pictures that fit in with the style they’re going after – art deco prints are popular in modern bars, while vintage pictures of different lagers are plentiful in the UK’s pubs. No matter what your style is, try to keep the home bar design simple – since it’s a room you won’t be spending most of your time in, like the kitchen or the bedroom, you don’t have to spend a lot of time (or a fortune) on your home bar.
Remember – your home bar is all about entertaining and having fun, so make sure you have a good time designing it too!
