Decorating Your Coffee Table for Christmas

Decorating for the holidays is one of the funnest activities you can do. And if you have children it can be even more fun. But one thing that people tend to overlook when they are decorating is the coffee table. People will decorate every inch of their home (inside and out) but yet they won’t decorate the very CORE of the living room which is the coffee table.

So we will remedy that by discussing in this article some of the ways in which you can decorate your coffee table for Christmas.

The first thing you need to do is make or buy a cover for the coffee table. You can go to your local shopping mall (Target, Wal-Mar, Kmart, etc.) and pick up a Christmas inspired table cloth or you can make your own. If you can work with cloth, even a little bit, and especially if you have children, you should definitely make one yourself.

To make one you’ll need to run to your fabric store and get two pieces of fabric. Get a large red piece and another, smaller white piece. The red piece should be large enough to fit over your entire coffee table (or just the top, however you want it to be) and the white piece should be big enough to make Christmas inspired designs out of to be sewn into the cover.

Once you have the cover created and the designs sewn in you can work on a centerpiece which could be anything from a Christmas themed scented candle to a miniature manger scene.
