Deceit...

Deceit always causes more harm than good. Please comment!
He took every opportunity he had to deceive her
Every moment, every conversation telling a different lie
Into her innocent, fragile face he had to look
Every step, every look made him want to die

Mental images are locked into his head
Whispers escaping and his thoughts are heavy as lead
Thoughts and actions not of his own
Looking at her as if she’s always known

His entire life with her was a well kept lie
But now the pain of his deceit makes him willing to die
Die to protect her, the one he realized he loved
It’s as if his heart had released a vision of white doves

But the thought of it being too late crushes his soul
He felt as though his heart had a bleeding hole
All because of the deceit he had spread
And now he knows that it was more than a game that was played in his head
