Death is Such a Small Word
People always say "they died" or "he's dead". Like it's no big deal. But it doesn't really show how much has been lost.
Death is a small word,
yet so frightfully large,
the feeling of loss
is powerful and in charge.
Death is a small word,
but not such a small thing,
the loss of a soul,
the sadness it can bring.
How can it be huge,
yet small at the same time?
It's a play on emotions,
an irreversible crime.
For some it's too big
to handle at all,
they submit to its promises,
they cry as they fall.
Life is a big word,
so embrace it without fear,
for death is too small
to think of it as clear.
