Dead End Street
Katie is regular teen on summer vacation. She runs into a new street in her old neighborhood. There is something very strange about everything on that street.
It is my first story. I only wrote for school, or myself, I would love some opinions. Thanks for reading.
Chapter 1
-Katie!
There is no way they will get me out of my room. It's summer vacation, why am I supposed to slave it away? I actually don't mind babysitting my two little brothers, cleaning, and cooking. I know my parents are busy and they do their best. I love my brothers, but a 5 and 3 year old boys are a handful especially my brothers. Those two would come up with things to do that no other kid would dream of. What can I saw we are fearless.
I'm staying on my room, pretending not to hear them, the reason is that I'm in a bad mood. I have lots of friends, but only one very good friend, my cousin Orlando, but everyone calls her Oly, weird but her parents are, too. She left to our aunts place in far away Maine. And I'm stuck here in disconnected little place called Paradise, in Washington.
I haven't done anything productive this summer vacation., hence the bad mood. I just realized today how crappy three weeks of vacation has been. To get rid of my bad mood I decided to take a jog. There was a note on the table, letting me know that my parents left over friends house because they got a huge new Jacuzzi, so they are going to have a night out and boys are over grandmas.
I took my time getting ready. I haven't realized how late it got. It was 11:30pm when I finally got outside. So dark and quiet. One good thing about living so far from everything, it's so remote. While jogging into the night, I had a feeling like I'm alone in this place. One of my favorite things about Paradise is the sound of the wind among the trees. It is the most beautiful sound, add rain and lightning and you got a real paradise.
After jogging over thirty minutes, I noticed a street that I have never seen before. I decided to overcome my tiredness and took a jog down the street. It had no street sign. There was absolutely no lights on, houses or street. The most odd thing was that those weird houses plain, but strange in a way, had absolutely any cars in the driveway. There was also no numbers on the houses. Getting creeped out, I came to a Dead End. I turned around congratulated myself on my unbrightness of jogging at midnight on weird street.
The only thing that stood out very brightly was a red stop sign at the end of the street. I decided to take a break and walk to the sign.
I noticed a shape forming near a stop sign. Getting closer I saw a boy standing with his back to me. He was average height with very wide shoulders. His hands were in his pockets. His gray shirt and black sweat pants were the reason he was hard to see in the distance. When he turned to face me, I saw pure pain on his face.
