DEA Agents Raid Michael Jackson's Doctor's Office

The office of Michael Jackson's personal physician, Conrad Murray, was raided by federal agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration earlier today.
The investigation into Michael Jackson's death now involves the federal Drug Enforcement Administration and it appears that their current focus is on Dr. Conrad Murray, Jackson's personal physician who was with him when the singer died. Up until now, police and investigators have indicated that Dr. Murray is cooperating with the investigation, but that would come into question if agents felt the need to raid his office in Houston.

Of course, all of this is centered on the idea that Jackson died of some sort of drug overdose, perhaps from drugs administered by Murray or one of his other doctors. Police at the scene of Jackson's death seized the powerful anesthetic propofol from his home.

Ultimately, the authorities are going to have to decide if they want to try to criminalize Jackson's death. Clearly, Jackson died rather unexpectedly and there will be endless speculation about what actually caused his death. He was taking various types of drugs for various conditions and was likely addicted to drugs that were harming his health. Who is responsible for that? In reality, it was Jackson himself, but that doesn't make for much of a story.

Instead, the "story" of Michael Jackson's death and the "mystery" surrounding it will be sensationalized and re-packaged almost daily, by and for every organization and media outlet that can profit from the existence of the story.
