de-MOCK-racy

Point of view
With a loud sound
And a flash of light
Fire rose from the ground
And obscured the soldiers sight.
The sound of steps
Off to his right
Pounded in his ears
Resounded in the night.
The bullets flew
The soldiers died
To strangers whom you just met
Now your ending is tied.
Isn't it sad
What mankind has done?
I ask you now to tell me
Who was it that won?
Why did this war start?
Why did it end?
Did you ever think that those who fought
Would actually ever bend?
Parts of a whole
Is all that you'll find
Wars are betrayals
Against you r own kind.
People are people
Men are men
Wars are seeds
From which hate is stemmed.
