David's Dream

A poem I wrote when a friend and I played charades with our dreams.
I step to the microphone
Ready to blow up the world
Starting with this edge-of-their-seat audience
I'm ready to pulverize and create new lives
With my brain oozing out through my too big for my body mouth
When someone from the dark uses their non-human cold-hearted hands to punch me
Dead in the jaw
Dead in this body
Dead on this floor
But the breath returns to my body
I am the human balloon
Until reality bursts my bubble
As I pick up the weapon of mass destruction to your ears I see some foreign object
It does not look like a bomb so I throw it out of my way
I go back to my oh-so-right intellectual piece
Sudden movement behind me and I feel metal on the back of my thinking cap
Bang!
Two brains are better than one
Peace to the piece
