David Hasselhoff Hospitalized after Vodka Binge
David Hasselhoff was reportedly rushed to the hospital with alcohol poisoning not long after shooting wrapped on America's Got Talent.
David Hasselhoff has been publicly dealing with - or not dealing with - what appears to be a very serious drinking problem for at least the last several years. The viral video of him flailing around on the floor of a Las Vegas hotel room was the first time the general public was treated to a taste of The Hoff behind closed doors.
Now, it appears that years of drinking and alcohol abuse are starting to catch up with the highly successful television and recording artist. Reports are that he was rushed to the hospital from his home in California after a vodka bender that had entered its second day. His 17-year-old daughter and a male assistant were with him at the time and his daughter appeared to be sobbing heavily as he was taken away.
Hasselhoff rose to American fame with television's Knight Rider during the 1980s. He would go on to star in Bay Watch and to launch a successful recording career, albeit with his largest fan base in Europe and other parts of the world. He is now riding high as one of the judges on America's Got Talent, which has continued to grow in popularity as the not-so-distant sister show to American Idol.
Hasselhoff has repeatedly denied that he has a drinking problem, which is one of the first clear signs that one actually has a drinking problem. With this latest incident, it will be interesting to see just how The Hoff responds and if he will use the opportunity to make a public effort to get clean and start a new life.
