Dating Tips for Men: Things to do on a Date
Its Friday and tomorrow is your big date with the girl you’ve been flirting with for six months. But you are nervous and don’t want sweat streaming down your face while talking to her. Here are things to do on a date to make sure it goes well…
The most common choices for a date are a movie, dinner or an even like catching a game or concert together. But why does the date have to be so common, I mean every one goes for dinner, movie and concerts. So what is the difference between a girl going out with you or hanging out with her friends? What makes a date a date? What can the men do to make the date special, or at least different and worthwhile?
Here are some tips about what you men out there can do on a date and wow that woman:
- Read, yes as silly as it may sound, you should read the paper and latest happenings in your city. It gives you something to talk about and can also be a conversation starter. Also remember women are judging you as much as you are judging them, and conversation skills are a big factor.
- Rehearse some funny stories. As lame as this may sound, if you come across as someone who has a great sense of humor, you are mostly going to get that second date. Women love funny men.
- Be attentive. Yes yes you may have heard this a dozen times, but it still doesn’t hurt to hear it again does it. Listen to what the woman is saying and make sure you come across as someone who is a great listener. Imagine how put off she will be if she asks you your opinion and you have no idea what she was talking about.
- Try not to come across as if you are sitting in the courtroom listening to the judge make a ruling about your life. In short don’t be serious. Try and have fun, keep the conversation light hearted, laugh a little. And remember to flirt and have fun. That’s what a date is about isn’t it.
- Be well dressed and well groomed, and as clichéd as it may sound the clothes make the man. You don’t have to wear a tux, but it is important that your clothes be clean and odor free. Shave and shower please. And remember no belching, and no the food was good is not an excuse for it.
- Be generous, not with your words but with the tip. Women judge a man by the generosity of his tip. Stupid as it may sound and no matter how much you go on and on about service tax and bad service, no woman is going to be impressed with you leaving a few dollars in tip.
- We all love to talk about ourselves and women love it even more (trust me, I know) so let the conversation steer around the woman and her interests and life. You can talk about yourself on the next date.
- Even if you have to fake it, be friendly. Don’t start complaining about you being reserved and nervous. Its just not going to cut it if both of you are going to be reserved and no one does the talking. Be friendly, make her comfortable and watch her growing closer to you (in some cases literally).
- Give her your number at the end of the date, this way she knows that she doesn’t have to depend on you to call and she can call if she wants to. And smile; there is nothing more seductive than a good smile.
