Dark Waters - Chapter 5A - Romance and Memories

Sorry that it took so long guys and sorry its so short. I've been getting ready for a huge trip I'm taking and during the trip I will write a ton and try to submit a lot. Especially since school is fast approaching. Hope you guys like this part of the chapter!

Amanda walked into her room with Hunter close behind and as soon as she walked into the room she realizes there’s only one bed. She freezes in the middle of the doorway and Hunter ends up running into her. Amanda spins around and glares at Hunter, knowing he’s in the doorway, just as he shakes his head and opens his eyes. He looks at her with wide innocent eyes and a bit of his hair hangs down near his eyes, creating a slightly rugged look even though Amanda can’t see it.

"Um… is there something your glaring about me about or are you just glaring cause you can?" he asks, getting himself a fiercer glare.
"Well lets see… first you kiss me on the cheek like I’m your girlfriend or something. Then you run into me. Then I discover this room only has one bed and we are not sharing it," she says, looking at him as if the fact there was only one bed was his fault. Amanda’s glares and angry words set off Hunter’s own annoyance and anger,
"Well I’m sorry. Its so obvious that there was another bed and I moved it out of the room and then I ran into you on purpose. Oh yeah, that’s so realistic. And no your not my girlfriend but I can dream can’t I?" Hunter snaps, glaring right back at her as his hands clench into fists at his sides.

Amanda takes a step back and her eyes widen as she hears the last thing Hunter said. Just a few images go through her mind of her curling around Hunter in his panther form and going to sleep. She can’t really see it but she can feel the sensations again briefly and gets images that are what she’d imagine what it would look like even though she doesn’t know what colors look like or even what Hunter really looks like.

Hunter sees Amanda step back and her eyes widen and suddenly his last words come back to him like the backlash of a whip. Oh shit. He thinks, taking a step forward and reaching toward her. His hand drops back to his side quickly as he speaks.
"I’m so sorry, Amanda. I didn’t mean to say that," Hunter says, sounding regretful and sad. Amanda looks toward the sound of his voice, her eyes large and shimmering with tears.
"We were, weren’t we?" Amanda says softly, "I was your girlfriend wasn’t I…"

Hunter frowns at her and his whole body shifts in surprise. He looks at her for a few minutes before speaking.
"To tell the truth… I really don’t know. We might have been, we might not have been. Why do you ask? Do you remember something?" Hunter asks, sudden excitement in his voice which felt like a stab in the chest to Amanda. She couldn’t understand why it hurt but for some reason the thought that he was excited that she was getting her memories back, becoming another person, hurt her like nothing else.

"Sort of. Not really." Amanda murmurs, exceptionally quiet. Hunter’s face immediately seems to fall and he sighs, "Well… I think you should go to bed. I can sleep on the floor. It won’t hurt me," he says, looking up at her for a moment before turning around and moving toward a corner of the room.

"Hunter…" Amanda says, reaching toward Hunter and grabbing his arm. Just as Hunter turns around she wraps her arms around his neck and kisses him fiercely. She buries her hands in his hair and just as she finishes kissing him she turns and walks into the bedroom, leaving Hunter there staring after her.
Amanda closes the door behind her and leans back against it, closing her eyes and putting her hand up to her lips, wondering at the sensations still there.
