Dark Waters- Chapter 6C- Aching Love

Sorry it's been so long since I last put up a chapter. These few that I'll be posting now are short but there is more than one in a row so I hope that makes up for it. Now that schools started I'll be slower but I haven't stopped writing. Thanks Everyone.
Amanda suddenly felt her legs go weak and she was afraid that if he didn’t have his arms wrapped tightly around her she would have fallen to her knees. She reaches for Hunter’s face and lightly traces his features with her fingers and feeling the texture of his hair. Suddenly someone coughs and Amanda takes a quick step backwards. Hunter lets Amanda step back and he grins before glaring at Marcus, who was the one who whistled.

"Get a room you two," Marcus says grinning at them and giving Hunter a look that said you poor sucker. Hunter narrows his eyes and raises one eyebrow, looking pointedly toward Alicia. Markus stiffens and glares back at Hunter.

"Hey. You two. Quit it. Your acting like territorial males for Christ’s sake. I thought I was the most wolfish person here," Alicia says and grabs Amanda, who stares at Hunter with wide eyes, "Oh look at that. You scared the poor girl with your territorial habits." Alicia turns Amanda around and ushers her out of the room with everyone else following.

As they’re walking through the hallway Hunter and Marcus break off from the group and start speaking in hushed, yet angry, voices.

"What the hell did you mean by that look at Alicia," Markus says, his eyes turning red with anger.

"No matter how secretive your trying to be it seems pretty obvious your attracted to her. A demon and a wolf? Have you lost your mind man! You’d kill each other!" Hunter snaps, shoving Markus.

"Yeah well its not like you have a chance with the human either, panther. She’s part of Le Conseil now," Markus growls back.

Hunter takes a step back from Markus, feeling like he’s just been slugged in the gut. He really didn’t have a chance with her. No matter how much he loved her she didn’t love him back and she was a part of Le Conseil while he most definitely was not. He was almost the enemy of Le Conseil. After a few minutes filled with the sound of heavy breathing Markus closes his eyes and leans his head back against the wall.

"Sorry, panther. But its true. None of us have much of a chance with relationships in Le Conseil and your not even really part of Le Conseil. I just don’t see how it would work,"

Without replying Hunter turns and leaves the hallway, moving toward the group again. Markus follows close behind, both of them putting on a faked smile.
