Dancing With the Stars Reveals New Cast

The new cast of Dancing With the Stars has been announced, with some surprises and some who are sure to entertain.
If you’re a Baltimore Ravens fan and you simply can’t get enough of the team and its players in the wake of the historic Super Bowl win in New Orleans, Dancing With the Stars has good news for you. Now you can get even more Ravens, as wide receiver Jacoby Jones, who kept the team’s hopes alive with a catch on a deep ball thrown by Joe Flacco in a last-minute victory over the Denver Broncos, will join the show. Others to join the show will be American Idol’s Kellie Pickler and country legend Wynona Judd.

The announcements lead to the question – how do some of these folks make it onto the show? Jones, of course, had his moments in the NFL playoffs, but he has none of the star power of say, Ray Lewis or some of the NFL players who have gone on the show before him. "I think that some of these celebrities really, really benefit from it because not only does it possibly revive a career… but it shows them in a different light," Pop culture watcher Alison Stewart said.

Peter Davis, Editor of Scene Magazine, says that celebrities should think long and hard about going on the show if they don’t already have pretty good moves. "I would say almost 80 % of the stars [who] have done it shouldn’t have done it," he said. "The ones who have done well, you didn’t really know who they were. Someone like Kellie Pickler this season is great because she was on ‘American Idol’… but I think someone like Wynona Judd seems a little bit desperate and a little bit late in the game to be on the show."
