Daddy I Hate You

A poem I wrote when my dad let me down…
Daddy I hate you
For all the pain you put me through
All the lies that you told
That now I behold

I remember the beatings long ago
I find it so hard just to let it go
Why did you do this to me?
Now it seems like one big memory

Daddy I hate you
I feel so scared, so all alone
But it’s so hard to fight this battle on my own
I still don’t know what to do

Every time I get up
You push me back onto the floor
I prey to god for no more
My soul is withering away
So why should I stay

Why are you so mad?
All I wanted to do was make you glad
What did I do that was so wrong?
Whatever you do to me
I'll always stand strong
