Fans of Justin Bieber are up in arms about a recent - and completely ludicrous - "online movement" that urged Bieber fans to cut themselves in order to show their disappointment with the fact that The Biebs was recently caught on camera smoking weed. Obviously, the movement was a "hoax", but it didn’t seem to stop some already-disturbed individuals from answering the calls to harm themselves in the hopes that it might get them some attention from JB.
Despite the over-the-top nature of the online hoax, many picked up the baton to show faux support for the movement. Allegedly, that prompted some Bieber fans to actually cut themselves, while others took the opportunity to get in on the joke. In addition to some disturbing images of people who allegedly cut themselves, many others cut pieces of paper, cakes and other objects and posted to Twitter and the site that originated Cut4Bieber, 4Chan.org.
Other celebrities on social media jumped in to voice their disgust with the fake "movement" and Miley Cyrus was one of the first celebs to retweet the following post from @OfficialCANCER: "#cutforbieber? Cutting is NOT something to joke about. There are people who are actually suffering from self-harm, this is so disrespectful." Paris Jackson also chimed in to try to dissuade people from cutting themselves or continuing to spread the hoax.
