Curveball Prologue
This idea has been floating around in my head for a couple of days and I decided to try it out! Tell me what you think!
I just got enough time to sit down and type this, so I decided to submit it! In case you couldn't tell this is about baseball and it was inspired by my brother's baseball team. Please comment, vote, or email me at lindsey_rose_1994@yahoo.com because your feedback makes my day! Keep in mind that this is just the prologue, to give you a little idea of what the story is about, so it's supposed to be short! Oh, I forgot, it's only fair that I dedicate this to Phoebe Gardens because I've been reading her stories and they're giving me the inspiration to write mine. Enjoy!

"It's the bottom of the ninth and the bases are loaded. The batter's got a full count. One more strike and the game's over." The announcer's voice boomed through the stadium. The coach called a time-out and jogged out to the pitcher's mound, toward me. Owen pushed off his face mask and abandoned his crouch behind home base to walk to the pitcher's mound as well.
"I don't need to stress how important this game is, because you both already know that it's the World Series. Olivia, you can do this! Just calm down and pitch like you've been pitching for the entire game." The coach started, once we were gathered around the mound.
"I know that coach. I'll be fine, I can do this." I was looking up at the people in the stands.
"We know you can Liv" Owen used my nickname for me. He's been my catcher ever since I started pitching, in sixth grade. He patted my shoulder, put his face mask on, and walked back to home plate. The coach returned to the dugout and Owen crouched into a catching stance, so I could pitch the ball.
As the ball left my grip the stadium became extremely quiet. It was the best curveball I'd ever thrown and it went whizzing past the batter. "Strike three, you're outta here!" the umpire yelled.
The crowd went wild as the announcer yelled, "The Cincinnati Reds have won the World Series! The Dynamic Duo has done it again!" Owen threw off his face mask and ran out to the mound. He grabbed me and before I knew what was happening he was kissing me. Then, the weirdest thing happened! I started to hear my mother's voice.
"Liv, honey, get up! You're gonna be late for school."
"I'm up, I'm up. Would you please get out now? I have to get ready." I replied, as I sat up in bed. Why did she have to ruin that wonderful dream?
"I'm going, just don't forget your baseball stuff, you've got a game after school today." She left the room and, after glancing at the clock, I scrambled to get ready. I can't be late today!

If enough people like it I'll try to get the next one out soon!
