You may also need the help of another person while putting up the drapes. You should start by taking the measurements of the area where you have to put the drapes. This not only includes the height of the area, but also the width. According to this, you will have to buy or stitch the drapes. Make sure that you leave three to four inches of space from the top as you have to place the dowel rods there.

Once this is done, make a pencil mark at the place where you are going to place the rods. This marking should be made on both the sides of the wall and make sure that they match with each other. With the help of a screw gun, tighten the screw through the closet dowel rod hardware and fasten into the place where you have made the measurements. When this is done, take the rod holders and measure their inner dimension. Then, cut the dowel rod with the help of a hand saw so that it fits into the holder perfectly. However, make sure that it is not too tight. After this, hang the drapes that you have selected on the dowel rod and place both the edges of the rod into the rod holder, one by one.
