Chapter 19

Prom is here and everybody was busy, including me. I got my hair done, including my nails and a lot more that I'm done with. All of our friends were sitting in my house waiting for Vincent and Vikki to show up before we go.

"Hey let's take a group picture," whined Joan. She grabs onto Devin's hand and wrapped it around her shoulder. Just to let you know, she's not going to prom with Lewis anymore instead she going with Devin. About Lewis, he's taking this girl from another school.

"I don't want Vincent and Vikki to be mad at us if we don't take group picture with them in it," I said to Joan.

"Alright Mina, why do you always make the goodie good decision huh?" said Joan putting her camera down. She turns to look at Devin. "Okay then, Devin let's take a picture of the both of us then alright."

"Alright," said Devin. He grabs onto Joan waist and the both of them started taking picture. I didn't even want to argue with her when she said that 'I always make the goodie good decision'. I just sit there, thinking about Lucas. Since this morning, I've been thinking about him and nothing else. I was afraid that may be Lucas and I aren't meant to be together. Will he show up during prom and take me away from Jason and said that he love me? Or will I run off during prom to find him just because I can't stop thinking about him? Jason grabs my hand and I look up at him and I smile weakly.

"Are you alright?" he asked me with a smile.

I nodded my head. "Yeah, I'm alright." I pull my hand away from him and he let go. Then the doorbell ring and the rest of us got out of the house, heading to our senior prom. When we got over there, I didn't even care who wear what or who's pretty. All I'm thinking is Lucas here or not. A couple of guy stares at me and say that I'm pretty but I didn't even pay attention or say anything to them. I was depressing that I haven't see Lucas and which I really want him to be here. So I lied to Jason that I'm feeling sick and I need to use the restroom. He nodded his head at me and I got up to go. I almost walk into the restroom when Devin called my name.

"Yes Devin," I answer him.

"If you're finding Lucas, he's not here," Devin said out of nowhere.

"Why are you telling me that? I know he's not here," I said back to him, feeling even more depress that he's not even here.

"Because you're not having fun and you always wonder your eyes around. That's why I'm telling you." I didn't say anything to him but just stand there to listen what else he's going to tell me next. "He's at home if you wanted to know."

"Okay, is this all you're going to tell me?"

He shakes his head at me. "Mina, if you love Lucas? Go find him before tonight is going to be late for you. Tonight is the perfect night for the both of you to get together and sort things out."

"What if I don't go? What will happen then?"

"The curse will separate the both of you forever..."

I chuckle. "The curse? What are you trying to say here, Devin?"

"You don't understand huh?" I shake my head slowly. "Do you remember the movie Ella Enchanted?"

I nodded my head. "Of course I remember that movie. But what does it have to do with me?"

"She was curse to obey if anyone tell her to do something right?" I nodded my head again. "Do you still remember what happened at the end how she broke the curse?"

"She couldn't kill the prince."

"And why couldn't she kill the prince?"

I stay silent for a moment and slowly said, "Because she loves him."

"Now you got it huh?"

I was confused on what he's trying to tell me. So I asked him, "Why does this have to do with me, Devin? I'm so confused on what you're trying to tell me here."

He sighs but smile. "You use to tell me that since childhood you've been cursing Lucas and right now you still do. When you were in middle school, you curse him that the both of you will never fall in love and the both of you did. But the one is not curse is...Lucas. You're just cursing yourself only, Mina."

"What do you mean, Devin? I still don't get it. Just get to the point!"

"I meant that you're the one that is holding the both of you back. He's not the one that is slipping away from you; you're the one that is slipping away from him. You're the one that isn't holding the both of your heart together. You're the curse, Mina! You're the one that isn't holding the both of you together. You're the one that is pulling the both of you apart. Now do you get it?" I slowly nodded my head, crying. Devin wrapped his arm around me, telling me to hush. "I'm sorry that I yell at you. But the truth between Jasmine and Lucas...she's the one that kissed him. He didn't do anything wrong. If you love him...go find him, just like in the fairy tale."

I slowly look up at him, and then Jason came by and pulled me away from him. "Why you!" Jason were about to hit Devin but I pulled him back.

"It's alright Jason, he just tells me what I needed to hear," I said to him, still holding onto his arm.

"What do you mean?" he asked.

I turn to look at Devin and then back at Jason. "Jason, I'm sorry but tonight...I can't be with you. I have to be with Lucas because I love him. Not you. You're a good friend to me, Jason. Although you have a crush on me since summer camp, at that time I was in love with Lucas but I was too stupid to notice that it was love."

He chuckle at me, although I knew that I'm hurting him also. "You're been in love with Lucas all this time and you just barely know."

"Jason, it was me who's holding me back. It was me who's not accepting what is in front of me all these year. But right now...I'm going to make the right choice. I'm not going to hold anything back anymore. So I'm sorry Jason."

He continues chuckling. I was thinking to myself what's he's going to do next but instead he said, "Just go before I change my mind and don't worry about me. I'm not going to end up like Lucas."

I kiss him on the cheek and about to go but I turn to look at Devin once more. "Thanks Devin and just to tell you...Joan and you make a cute couple. Do you want to know the reason why she picks you instead of the other guy? It's not because she felt sorry for you like the other girls. It's because she love you, that's why she pick you to prom. But don't tell her that I tell you this, alright."

He smiles at me. "Thanks for telling me, Mina."

I smile at him too and started to run out of the room. Once I got outside, there was no taxi or bus stop around. I didn't know what to do but just run with my high-heel to Lucas. When I got to the six stop sign, I take off my heeled and rubbed my feet for a couple of time. Then a car stops right in front of me.

"Get in," said a familiar voice. I slowly got up checking who it is. She rolls the window down. "It's just me, Katie."

I take a couple of steps away from the car. "What do you want?"

"Just get into the car. I'm the only one sitting in here," she said angrily. I look at the back seat once again and got into the car. We sit there quietly and didn't talk when she finally said, "Why aren't you talking? I thought you're the one that always start talking first."

"I just don't want to talk to you, that's why. And why do you ask me to ride in here with you? If you wanted to kill me, go ahead."

She chuckle and stop the car. "I'm not going to kill you." She turns to look at me right in the eye and pointed her head toward my window. I turn to look and we were right in front of Lucas's house. I slowly turn to look at her, confuse why she's doing this. "I know you might be thinking why I'm doing this but I'll tell you...Lucas is right that although I try to make him love me, he won't love me because he already has someone in his heart. And that's you, Mina." She sighs. "I give up, you win me. I'm letting you have him, Mina and I hope the both of you the best."

I quickly hug her. "Katie let's be friend."

"Sure let's be friend." I let go of her and she gently slap my shoulder. "Go inside, he's waiting just for you."

I open the door and walk up to Lucas's house. I was about to knock the door when the door burst open.

"Mina," Lucas speck slowly.

I smile at him. "Hey Lucas." I look at him and he was dress up. "Where are you going?"

He chuckle. "Umm...out."

I chuckle with him too. "Do you really need to go out?"

He shakes his head. "No, why?"

"Good." I grab him and started kissing him. He closes the door behind and locks it while my hand wrapped around him. He touched my cheek and kissed down my neck and the both of us fall down on the couch. He started to chuckle and I did the same thing too. He got up and sat down and I did the same thing.

"I can't believe you just brag in and started kissing me like that," said Lucas.

"I know I just can't believe I can't control myself," I said back to him. I lend my head on his shoulder. "Lucas I'm sorry. I'm sorry about everything. I guess I'm the one that is holding our love back. Not you and..."

He kissed my lip. "I understand Mina. No need for you to tell me. All I wanted to hear if you love me or not?"

I kissed him on the lip also. "I love you Lucas. And I'm not taking my word back. I love you more than anything in this world."

He kissed my lip again. "I love you too Mina." He look down at my dress, chuckling. "And you look beautiful today."

"And you too." I touched his nose. "By the way...where were you going anyway?"

"I was going to prom."

"For what?"

He kissed down my neck and back up to my lip. "For you, of course. What about you?"

"Of course Lucas, just think why I'm inside your house now."

"To visit my parents?" I slap his head. "Ow! Why did you hit me?"

"Because I wanted too."

He grabbed onto my waist and started tickling me. After we were finish tickling and laughing, we settle down.

"Does your parent know you're here?" he asked me, wrapping his arm around me.

I shake my head. "But they will know soon enough."

"Umm...by speaking about parent. My parent not home."

I look up at him, smiling. "No way Lucas. You better not be thinking of that. There's no way I'm going to do with you."

"Too late!" He grabs onto me and carries me upstairs. I started to hit him, telling him no but he just laugh. He laid me on the bed and I instantly got up.

"There's no way I'm going to lose my virginity," I whined.

He closes the door and slowly walks up to me. "And why's that?"

I sat down on the bed and he kissed my forehead down to my lip. "It's because we're not married yet. I wanted to save it just for you and that'll be my gift to you. So, what about you? Aren't you going to give me a gift when we get married?"

He sat down next to me and thinks. "Umm...since your gift is that." He started to chuckle and I gently slap him on the shoulder.

"What is it huh?" I asked him.

"For giving you 20 kids!" he yelled laughing.

"Why you Lucas! There's no way I'm going to give you 20 kids!" I pretend to chock him and the both of us laugh. All through the night, the both of us laugh and joke around. We also talk about the old time and even look up at the stars together. And through the night, we slept together which we're not supposed to but we just couldn't stop being separate from each other anymore. His parents also came home but they never came to check up on him and that's very lucky for the both of us!

Last Chapter 20

Four-years have passed and the both of us live happily together.

"Lucas you jerk!" I yelled. I open the door and throw a chair at him.

"I'm sorry Mina, I didn't mean too," he begged me. He got down on his knee and did his puppy face. "Please Mina; I'm sorry I won't ever do it again."

"Do what again?" I asked him calmly.

"I don't know," he answers me. "What did I do?"

I sigh and turn around when Devin, Joan, Lilly, and the other rest of our friends show up in our backyard. He got up embarrass that they see him kneeling on the ground. He gently grabs onto my arm and said, "What's today?"

"Are you an idiot or what Lucas?" I said back to him. "Today is the day that all our friends celebrate for our yearlong friendship, don't you remember."

"Oh okay but why did you throw a chair at me?"

I shrug my shoulder at him, smiling. "I just felt like it."

He grabs onto my waist and swings me around.

"Hey you two, you guy better watch it or else your baby might get injure," said Lilly.

He stops swinging me and the both of us went and sat down with them. And yes, Lucas and I are expecting our first born child. It's been two month already that the both of us knew that we're having a baby, actually I'm having the baby and Lucas the father. We also got marry right after high school too. About the rest of them, Devin takes my advice and dated Joan. She was piss at me about telling him the truth but later after that, she thanks me. About Lilly and Nick, they're not planning to get marry yet because they wanted to finish college first. Which I think that isn't a bad idea. Vincent and Vikki...well they still together and will always be together. And about Jason, I heard that he went out of town and after that, no news of him anymore. Oh yeah Katie, I almost forgot about her. Right now she's out of town and decided to continue on studying instead of finding her true love.

"Hey guy!" yelled Katie entering the backyard.

"Hey Katie!" we all yell.

I went up to her, giving her a nice and friendly hug. "Congratulation Mina!"

"Thanks Katie." She sat down in front of me and Lucas came by with a cup of wine. "How's up there huh? Having any luck with guy?"

She shakes her head as she accepts the cup from Lucas. "Thanks Lucas."

"Aww why not?" Joan joined in. "You do know that you're hot and pretty."

She laughs. "You guy, a lot of guys do hit on me but I'm the one that deny them."

"Oh okay," said the rest of us. "Why?"

She laughs again. "I just wanted to stay focus on college right now. And I'm not ready for a relationship anymore."

"Just waiting for the right guy?" Vikki asked her.

"Ummm...I guess so," she answers her.

After we were finished with our getting together party, Joan, Lilly, and Vikki helped me clean up including their boyfriends since I was pregnant and I can't really carry heavy stuff. When they were finished, they all went home. I went up to my bedroom and sat on the balcony seat, looking up at the stars like usually.

"Hey babe, looking up at stars again?" asked Lucas. He sat down next to me, wrapping his arm around my shoulder.

I push myself close to him and said, "Yes boo, do you want to join me?"

He kissed my forehead and the both of us look up at the star together.

"You know what Lucas?"

"Yes Mina."

I look up at him giving him a smile. "I'm so going to curse you to stay with me forever and never let go."

He snorts at me. "I bet I should be the one cursing you to stay with me forever instead of pulling us apart."

I kissed him on the lip and the both of us laugh.
